Chevrolet Spark - Let's talk about cutting costs (While still driving a pretty great vehicle!)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Chevrolet Spark isn't the type of Chevrolet that most people lie awake dreaming about. (It's not a Corvette, Camaro, or Silverado) but it is a great vehicle for people who know that practical decisions with their money allow them to enjoy life in other ways! Oh yeah, absolutely those would be great scenarios. As far as buying more than you need... that's basically ever car. If you're going to spend huge money on a vehicle though, you should probably get what you want, even if it's more than you "need"

@Peter Lowe One Last sentence was dumb advice and that's why the car industry is in trouble right now. Greedy dealerships with bullshit fees and add ons. This car is not meant for 4 adults on a road trip (children only in the back seats).

@@travelinman482no it makes sense because you are throwing money away anyway you might as well get exactly what you want because buying a new car is usually already a dumb move unless you are a millionaire lol. Get what you want because if you throw money away you might as well like it. Most should buy a 5-10 year old car that's where the value lies

I waited six months for delivery of my 2022 LS 5 speed. Driving it to the grocery store makes me feel like I'm in a rally; it's FUN! Manual transmission, manual windows & mirrors, and no buttons on the key. It's like 1975 again. Hell, I'd pay extra for that. 15 grand out the door. Very underrated car.

I have a 2022 LT 5 speed manual Spark. I bought this car for running around and have fallen in love with it. It’s actually fun to drive. My main vehicle is a truck. But filling my Spark for one third of the cost is also nice. I now drive my Spark to work and hardly drive my truck.

Purchase one of the last ones off the assembly line fully loaded two LT even includes the $1000 moonroof I get 42 miles per gallon in the city but only about 35 on the highway incredible little car but again General Motors discontinued it because they want us to drive three row SUVs and for size gas guzzling pick up trucks which is absolutely pointless if you’re just going to the grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk or A loaf of bread

They quit selling it because a hard economy made it more popular than any previous year and it wasn't profitable enough taking sales away from other models.

I had one as a long term rental because I was in that wait list for the ford TCM. My impression is that's a good city car or second car for someone who just needs a runabout. While not a speed demon had enough get up and go to merge, change lanes and keep up with traffic. On a day off made went to costco and I got all my paper products, food etc. in the car. The ride was a little rough but about the same as any car this size. Quite a bit of bang for your buck. Besides I don't need automatic climate control. I'm too hot turn the dial to the left and if you're too cold turn it to the right and the A/C did work well.

I bought my little sparky a year ago , mine is LTZ + , 1.4 engine and I must say that I was very surprised in a good way , especially with the fuel ⛽️ i was driving like 190 miles and I was surprised to see that I still had half tank of fuel , even my dad was , does she eat fuel or she just smell it 🤣😂, my speed was between 55 miles to 70 , and yeah I was surprised, sparky is a small car like we all knows but believe me she’s full of surprises in a good way , this car is perfect for single/couple maybe even for a small family . But dam I love it 🥰😻

I own a 2019 Spark LT1, never had an issue with it. Great car, good power to weight. Lot's to love about that generation of the Spark. The headlights are great, both the low beams and high beams are on when you are on high beams. Really bright. The rear seat section can be removed without tools, the backrest of the back seat folds a lot better when the seats are removed. Best low cost small car I ever had, I'll drive it till it dies on me 😂 Money in the bank 👍

I drove one for about 2 years. Did not like it. With the tiny gas tank, I was stopping constantly to refuel. Not great in an area where Winter is 4 months either, got stuck in a 2" snow drift in a parking lot, just the front wheels in the snow, completely stuck.

I bought a 2017 model Chevy Spark brand new. I never had any trouble with it so I bought another brand new one in 2019. Also did not have any trouble with it. When I traded it in, the dealer had it on their website for $7,000 above the trade-in value they gave me and that was $2,000 above the MSRP in 2019. All I ever did was change the engine oil every 5,000 miles and drove it "normally". In other words, it is a commuter car so if someone wants to cut me off, I don't go racing after them. It is really too bad that Chevrolet no longer offers this car in 2023. I would have very happily bought my third one. IMHO it takes two hands to clap, in other words, reliability depends on how the owner treats the car as much as how the manufacturer makes the car. Reply

Out of all three of my vehicles the Spark is the highest to insure. I had to leave State Farm over it. The Spark would have cost the same as both my other vehicles put together. When Consumer Guide did a Hatchet job on the Suzuki Samurai comparing it to Honda's three wheeled ATV. Insurance people like State farm took it to heart warning every parent if your kid drives a Samurai he's as good as dead. The high rates. State Farm also assumes if your kid drives a Spark, same thing. Its an old company run by old people. The last on the face of the earth to go on line. Its ashamed, I have had good years in my early life with a local State farm agent who spent a lifetime in out town.
