You're fast ! Thanks for the video, it might help me replacing the black plastic, I replaced the motor with out popping out the vent , and I can't get it back in place to align with the screw Holes,

Take 2 pins out of the bottm of the golve box and remove the glove box, all of it is now out of the way.

I have a 2010 Impala LT. Heat thru vent and floor, but front defrost will not work when selected. I removed the Mode selector and the drive shaft on the selector turns when the car is on and I select different air flow vents i.e., change from defrost to vent then to floor, the shaft on the part moves. I can hear the selector motor working when it's connected in its home as well, but I still do not get any defrost. As a side note, the last time the defrost worked I heard a thunk in the dash as it switched to defrost. Any ideas? Thanks

Do you think the 03 impala has this in the back of its dash too???

No matter what setting I try it only works through the front vents it doesn’t work if I switch it to come out the bottom either in my dashboard defrost doesn’t work either could that be the same problem you just fixed? I have a 2012 Chevy impala LTZ any help would be greatly appreciate ‼️

Do you have to have a scan tool to calibrate the new door? I don't have one. I was wondering if there are any other methods?

Hey brother, did you have a hvac code before you started the repair?
@302hobronco

@Robby Sabados I had a mode motor circuit code, can't remember the number forsure b0233? But mode motor tested good when removed from vehicle. But plugged in it wouldn't work. I ended up replacing it and everything started working. I was just trying to figure out why the motor was bad when I could actuate the motor when not attached to the hvac box. But when attached it wouldn't calibrate or work. But it is all good now

Thanks for information. I did it if you ever do it again take out 10 fuse for 2 minutes with car off. Turn on car run for 5min no reset needed

Will it work still if you do not have a programmer?

So i was not sure if you could do it without the programmer. Fortunately where I work they have a fleet of Impalas. So I replaced an actuator without the scan tool. I did pull the Hvac fuse though, until I had the new actuator installed. After the fuse was reinstalled, the new actuator worked fine and was no different than if I had used the scan tool. Can I guarantee that is the case everytime? No! But right now I would say yes you can replace it without a scan tool.
