His account has been closed for cheating. Looking at his games history, this is long overdue.

Magnus level precision and foresight from the opponent, really not human at thislevel.
Just checked his account and he’s very suspicious. Won 80% of rapid games in the last year with consistent 95% accuracy play.
I have to be honest, I am moving more toward Kramnik these days (although obviously a much much lower level) I'll play something unusual that I have been trying to learn from a course and within seconds the perfect reply comes back. People don't need to cheat on every move, using an engine once or twice in a game is enough to shift the balance. The problem is also once you have the idea in your head that your opponent might be getting some help, that is enough to totally throw you off. It pains me to be so cynical because I really like the people who play chess, whether they are 800 elo, or 2800 if you've sat down and spent some time on this wonderful game, you deserve to be able to enjoy it.

100% agree. Intermittent engine use during games is the real killer. I bet it's rife.
@marcrob100

Yes agree. Having an engine used against you damages your learning too. Because you can't learn the strategies to beat a human player. They just don't work.
It sucks playing against these cheaters. Even in 5 minute games I encounter them every so often but there are much more of them in the longer time limits. One tell tale sign is that they don't move immediately for obvious re-captures etc.
Just call me Krammers 😂😂 LOL !!
@danjeory3659

and yet, proved right. Maybe Krammers is too...
Better call Kramnik
The opponent is 1500 blitz with 3w 4l but having more time helps as he is 2200 in rapid with 100w 23l! We need more opponents like Blair :)
looked at his account. Extremely suspicious strength and accuracy overall. How does someone who has 4 losses and 3 wins at blitz(at 1700...dropping to 1500s)...amass an average of 90-95% accuracy over 125 rapid games...winning 80% of them? Newer account. Very suspicious
Opponent only made their account in the past week and has played only 100 or so games, they also have a win against an account closed for cheating so.. most likely a cheater - was an interesting game either way though

2 videos in 2 days!!! The gods have answered my prayers!
Now we do the procedure.
Good to see you putting up more vids again. Enjoying them immensely, so keep 'em coming! Being a long-time (but poor) Dutch player, I've learned heaps from you and might even be improving a wee bit despite my aged brain. I thought Qb6 was a fairly standard idea of just interfering with your developing your Queen's Bishop by threating your b pawn (but who cares about pawns?), so while it was the top computer choice it seemed to me like he might have found it even if for the wrong reason. But, looking at the comments below it appears your suspicions were correct, and his account has been closed for cheating. A shame, as this line can lead to such fun and interesting games when played by actual chess players, as you've shown before.

Except Simon instantly knew it wasn't a very human move and was ultimately proved right. I guess your instincts become pretty well honed after 30 years playing top-level tournament chess... That's the thing about computer moves. They often appear 'normal' after the fact.

@@danjeory3659 Yes, I should have said, Simon's recognition reflects his far higher experience and understanding. I didn't even consider the move as worth remarking upon until Simon says his alarm bells started ringing and said "why would you play Qb6?", which is what made me think the above. I didn't mean to suggest he was wrong (as it has been shown he wasn't after all), only was offering a possible reason why someone might stumble upon that particular move. And most likely, if someone made the choice for the reason I suggested, there would be flaws in that plan that Simon would have eventually exploited.
I love when you say THanything... three, threat, theory, throw... you have transformed it into just freat, free, feory, frow..... i watch your videos with a big smile listening to your dialect and random banter.

It's certainly suspicious, especially coming from a new account. 89% accuracy means nothing on its own. I sometimes even get those sort of scores and higher in my own games, and I'm rubbish, but this was a very sharp and challenging game against a grandmaster. It's one thing getting high accuracy when playing familiar lines against similarly low rated opponents, or even not very sharp lines, but in a game like that one it would be very difficult to get high accuracy. Just a correction though - that a5 move you mentioned, the computer gave it a tick, which only means means a good move, not the best. *Edit - I've just checked the account and my opinion is that he is 100% definitely a cheater.*
Interesting Game, Simon!
I love watching longer games ( blitz isn't great for improving in my opinion ). This was nice and instructive, although I don't play 1.d4. I would love to see some 1.e4 or even 1.c4 some day ! Thank you a lot for sharing videos, and taking time to explain your thoughts.
Give Kramnik a ring and report this guy

If you play the slav, you should know about the Boor attack, in which case you know that Qb6 is the best response. I'm not defending this particular player, but if Black does play Qb6, immediate accusations of cheating are premature.

Kramnik’s smurf account…
There are only 39,873,078 cheaters online. Maybe he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I played this guy and immediately knew he was cheating. Edit: just got a message that he was cheating. His account has been closed.
It’s never too late for a nice bongcloud. Interesting game!
You can't win against cheaters but, you can get em banned 😠

It's a big mistake to name the account as "GingerGM Speedrun". I think entices even more cheating than what you wouls usually encounter
@dearthwood

It's more just that the account is 2200 rapid. That rating range will have a high percentage of cheaters.
Just checked his account. Photo of him kissing someone who clearly isn’t his wife. Definite cheater.
If you didn’t know the theory, you should have asked your opponent!
First game was pretty sus
In general people who are over 2000 and no title are sus and should be looked at closely.

Can you start a 3 0 min speed run? Way less cheaters in that increment. Or one on lichess, almost no cheaters on lichess
I've never mouse slipped a genius move. I have mouse slipped a move that kind of worked but it wasn't actually good or anything special, just an elaborate way to trade pieces starting with a temporary sacrifice.
Not learning anything from you.....GM really?!?!
I'll say it again. It's like they've set your account only to play accounts that have been flagged as sus by other users but haven't been investigated yet. Well sus behaviour from the admins. Other streamers only seem to run into one or two cheats per speedrun. You seem to get them every other game.
Ginger GM we all love u here but for the love of god stop calling out anyone and everyone lower rated that beats you as a potential cheat!!!! Have some damn humility man.

Although I'm as disgusted with all the unfounded accusations made by Kramnik as anyone, cheating is a big problem. It stopped me from playing Daily chess because once you reach a certain rating (around 1800) you're meeting cheaters all the time and when you're putting as much time and effort into each move as I did, life becomes too short to waste on trying to beat engines. Luckily I'm nowhere near that rating in rapid, so I don't encounter them that often, and when I do it's of little consequence. In this instance though check the account and I think you will see that Simon has a point.

@lukeedward9748 they are not the only factors GingerGM considers... it's the cumulative evidence including things like the timing of the moves and the degree to which they are non-human... he will understand the difference between how computers and humans play better than anyone in the comments here. In my opinion, he was quite gracious in giving the benefit of the doubt. Let's see whether this opp's account gets closed down.
