Chess Opening TRICK To WIN FAST: The Rousseau Gambit
In Today's video, I recommend the best chess opening gambit with black against the 1st move e4. It is the Rousseau Gambit (or Ponziani Countergambit) from the Italian Game (Giuoco Piano), which happens after the opening moves: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 f5.

    I love the rousseau for intermediate players because it forces you to get comfortable with the idea of sacrificing for opening advantage, and many of the side lines force you to get comfortable with temporary sacrifices that you win back at the end. That crazy line you show where you have multiple mate threats is even better than just winning the queen for some pieces: most of his other pieces are trapped too. Youve sacrificed that material but you easily vacuum it up at the end.

    This is just amazing, at 2:40, if the queen takes for a desparado, then there is a knight fork follow-up 😮😊 Your opponent is just gonna prepare a coffee cause they THINK they are gonna win, what if its a blitz game 😂😂😂 Total video accuracy 💯 I see you improved your camera, its not low fps now 😄

    @ZorkChess you can do that to end your opponent's misery, but you can also take the queen and fork the rook just for your opponent to resign or you torture them later on

    When the gambit is accepted, 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 f5 4. exf5 e4 5. Nd4 Nxd4 6. Qh5+ g6 -> 7. fxg6 Nf6 8. g7+ Nxh5 9. gxh8=Q -> 7. fxg6 Qf6 8. g7+ Kd8 9. gxh8=Q etc.. is an interesting variation; 5...Nxd4 is actually a blunder.

    0:40 Better to play d5 before Nf6. Qh5+ is a mistake. 3:59 If you are hoping for Ng5 by white, play Bc5 because then Ng5 leads to quick checkmate, better than 0.0-ish positions in the video.

    I'm a Rousseau Gambit player and I know deep down, it isn't a good opening or gambit, but I also know, that isn't apparent right to white. You see, unlike other gambits, that are a bit dubious, your opponent can punish you somewhat quickly, maybe a 6 or 7 moves or something, the Rousseau gambit is bit different. It is a bad gambit, but it isn't a gambit that can punished in the short term, unlike other gambits. White players, need to be patient against the Rousseau gambit and the ones patient that exposes the gambit will win. The problem is, as chess players, we want punish what we think are dubious gambits quickly, and the Rousseau isn't something to punish quickly.
