Thanks! A year later and the lathe is great! The brand is from custom brand shop.com I heat it up with a blow torch.

came out looking great. I get my Jet 1640 in two weeks can't wait to try it out. want to try to do a chip and dip tray

What is the brand and size of the chuck you used to hold the bowl when you removed the the bottom tenon ? thx

They are called cole jaws. Mine are from nova. They attach to the chuck.

How do you like the lathe after a year, I am looking to upgrade to a full sized, this one or a Laguna Revo
