With all due respect to Deepika, she DID NOT nail the Tamil accent. I wish she had been trained better for the language. The movie would have raked in more ❤ I’m Tamil and I had no idea what she was jabbering about half the time. It took a few watches for me to even understand what she was saying. First time in my life I had to read subtitles for Tamil 🤣🤣🤣 But the movie was HILARIOUS and both SRK and Deepika acted so well!! I love it still and have watched it countless times 😂

It's the same as portraying a Hindi-speaking dude who eats roti, sabji all day, is in ethnic wear all the time and speaks all the languages (including Hindi) in a weird, unnatural accent and praises Hindi culture 24*7. Like what even is that? There's no real person like that... Bollywood sucks at portraying characters from a different culture.

Its so weird seeing Jaby reacting to so many mainstream Bollywood movies like Chak de India, now this one Chennai express (even Om Shanti Om, KKHH, K3G), now after so many years. Late, but Im am glad and loving it that he's doing it ie reacting to all these mainstream movies, (atleast) now (in like past 1-2 years). Now I just hope that he gets Ghajini ticked quickly. the initial scene they did is on a glass plate, it's a classic shot of Rohit shetty, he puts it in most of his movies. First they will put up a glass plate on top of something, actor will stand on it, cameraman will go under the plate, once the camers comes to the top they will make a transition to a normal camera scene which was shot without glass from the ground

In case no one has said it already, the songs they are singing in the train are actually based on tunes of real bollywood songs.

Those songs' lyrics were unreal. But the tunes were. Some of the songs were from Shahrukh's own films. So, it was really funny to watch for us who had watched those movies. Loved this movie. So much fun.

Just this thought came in mind that its so weird how people's emotions and choices change. Like back in 2016 (when Jaby started reacting to bollywood stuff), everyone was like we hate masala movies, etc etc and were looking down upon masala films (or even mainstream films like say this one Chennai express I guess. And tbh this could also be called and is a masala movie only.) and this was like until (2020 or) 2021 (and now 2022) I guess, until no Bollywood film was working and pushpa, '(and) etc (south indian movies)' started getting hit for being good masala films, and now everyone is like we want masala films and bollywood isnt making good masala films that we are craving for. Like its so weird, from a lot of people on the internet hating masala films and looking down upon them in like 2016 and as I said (even) till few years from then till like say 2020/2021/2022 and now everyone is (ie majority of the people are) like, we want masala films and now no one is looking down up upon them and infact demanding them and getting angry that such ie (good) masala(/(overall ie having different mixed genres or entertainment ie from like comedy to action to drama and sadness/sorrow. ie basically the name, masala only.) entertaining) films arent getting made in Bollywood. So its weird how people's opinions and choices change so drastically and within few years ie from 2016 (which I said was even till probably like say 2020/2021(/2022) or say till 2019 who knows) (of hating and looking down upon masala movies) till now (of wanting and demaning (good ofc) masala movies in Bollywood.

You've got it ALL wrong. Bollywood kept producing masala movies WITHOUT any solid story & is still continuing to make them & is already facing the consequences. But movies like KGF, Pushpa, RRR are masala movies WITH an actual story to tell. They focus on strong characters, their motives, personalities & goals. There were very very few movies in Bollywood in the time period you said which told an interesting story along with over the top fights, music etc.

It doesn't have the same status like KGF even after being much much better than it. Pushpa was equally bad but didn't got that massive like KGF. RRR was absurd too but pretty enjoyable atleast unlike KGF which gave a headache. It was similar to the movies Salman bhai used to make and get trolled for . The whole love story plot was cringe and had nothing to contribute for the story .
