Chemo Hike, Terrible Cancer Joke & What Cancer "Feels Like"

Round 7 of chemo today, and celebrating with a little hike in the hills!
A huge "thank you!" again to all of you who have sent me prayers, encouragement and blessings -- I appreciate your words more than you can know.
And if you, or someone you know is going through the cancer journey, please allow me to send you MY strongest encouragements and blessings. Please know that you are NOT ALONE. This thing just happens as a part of life, and while I will never stop for a SECOND in my fight against it...it has a way of radically realigning your priorities. In a good way. You stop caring about frivolous stuff, and only care about the most important thing: relationships.
Babies and older peoople have it right - they only care about their friends, family, loved ones, and spending time with them. Cancer makes me focus better on those things than I've done in the past, and for that I am grateful.

Dan your videos are amazing and so inspiring, I’m 26 with rare form of pancreatic cancer stage 2, which has fortunately been surgically resected 3 months ago. I’m currently on adjuvant Folfirinox chemotherapy for 6 months. I hope this chemo will destroy the cancer cells left in my body that couldn’t be removed surgically. I’m so scared not to know how long I will continue living..I.m so scared but your videos somehow give me hope. ❤️

By the way, Benjamin -- I have the exact same odds as you. Remember -- those are statistics that include plenty of older people, people with other health issues that make recovery harder (diabetes, heart disease, poor diet, no exercise, etc.), and YOU are in charge of most of those things. Which is nice, because we can eat better, move more, get more rest, drink more water and give our bodies a bigger fighting chance & improve our odds.

I appreciate the perspective, recently diagnosed stage 2a lung cancer and I lost my left upper lobe. I thought I was a tough guy I did well for the surgery and the cancer seemed to be contained and not to have leach the outer plural or to the nodules. I now am what I consider phase II getting ready for Chemo. I understand there is a wide range of reactions and I appear to be one of the lucky ones they estimate a total of 4 treatments one every 3 weeks. However, I seemed to have lost it prepping for surgery with the port. For some reason Chemo scares the hell out of me. You make it look like a walk in the park. Thank you for the inspiration.

You’ve got this! My dad has stage 2c throat cancer and made it through is now totally back to normal and has no evidence of disease!!!!! He couldn’t even eat and had a feeding tube. The hardest thing for him was actually the weight loss and loss of strength. He didn’t feel like a man anymore he said. Now he is jacked again and just build a huge deck in his back yard! Just stay calm. Use your family as support. Don’t be afraid. My dad would always say if a 3 year old can go through this so can I. ❤❤❤ I will pray for you

Love your attitude! It helps me since I have cancer too. I have thought the same about people I see that don’t look too heathy but they don’t have cancer. I have always taken care of myself as you have with exercise and diet so it was a huge shock to me to be diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Went through the chemo but waited a little to long for the surgery and the cancer grew into my skin. They are starting me on a new chemo next week. Hopefully it works well. I’m amazed that you are working but you enjoy it and it keeps your mind occupied and that’s good. Thanks for your positive videos and I look forward to more. Take care!

In this "great" country, no one should go without treatment for horrible diseases. This is supposed to be the richest and most powerful country. We take care of others, and we even take good care of criminals medically but we can't take care of those that need it the most. I love my country but I hate the medical establishment whom select only those they want to treat and leave those that work hard in this country by the wayside. No one wants to be forgotten but there are those of us whom are forgotten. Please research. There should be something that can be done for you. After all, this country needs to take care of its own before we care for others whom don't pay their way. God bless and your job now is to get well.

Just listening to you talk about it takes me back. I wish I had the energy you have while hooked up to chemo. I'm guessing because you are in good health (obviously not including cancer) that it makes a difference. My husband and I talked about this today. Since I'm more likely than not to have the cancer return, we talked about getting me in the best health possible to give me a better chance to keep it at bay and also put me in a better place physically if it does come back.

Going back to watch your Cancer journey from the beginning, when did you experience symptoms that made you go to the Dr. since you were stage four when you did go. Did you ignore symptoms for a long time? We know our bodies best. ☮️💟

Olive oil is good for you. Don't raise your blood glucose and insulin. You can forget sugar for rest of your lifespan. That depends on you if you feed the cancer with it´s favorite food witch is sugar/glucose and one amino acid.

Fermentation. You look very healthy. It is just that some of yours cells have turned on fermentation and gone bananas. Fermentation needs sugar.

I'm quite overweight, and I do manual labor every single day as well as keep a homestead, chopping wood, etc.. Meanwhile, you are judging people who look like me a sedentary in the grocery store. 😅 You have some growing to do!

Please don’t equate someone who is “fat” with someone who is not looking after themselves. Hormone disruption and steroids for chronic immune diseases can wreak havoc on the body with huge implications with weight gain. I’m still looking after myself, trying to stay alive, but part of that is prednisone unfortunately and with that comes weight gain. Prednisone keeps me alive, but kills me slowly. I have no appetite and have to work HARD to get any meal down so I mostly do protein smoothies. But I am overweight. I just have this body i have been given, but please stop judging - me and others - you don’t know how they got where they are!!
