I remember using this technique to fix my grandmother's wooden leg once. Unfortunately, I sanded too fast and the whole leg caught fire. So I definitely learned something from this, next time ask Grandma to remove the leg first.

While wood glue & sanding dust has long been a traditional filler to match the original wood colour, superglue does seem to change the colour, sometimes by quite a lot. It can also be inhibited by some woods, pine and spruce for example. Filling holes using sanding dust from the same wood mixed with PVA, Aliphatic resin or even sanding sealer seems to work well. Some timbers seem to react with some liquids. I am doing some mahogany repairs ATM using a very mahogany coloured timber for the repairs. Its the right colour but I don't think it's actually Mahogany. I have noticed that Shellac makes the sanding dust almost white but if I use sanding sealer or PVA to make up the filler, the colour is preserved. PVA remains a bit rubbery so doesn't sand well, aliphatic resin tends to be better for this but I ran out a while ago. Sanding sealer does sand extremely well for an excellent result so that is what I am using now. I do like the results you are getting along edges & at corners though, that's always a difficult bit.

You have a mahogany ATM? Sounds like a real antique!
Wood glue (the tan stuff or the white stuff) will generally give better results. That is literally a well known way to make wood filler.

Brilliant. Will definitely come in handy the next time i stuff up some woodwork.
Genius, will definitely be doing some of these.

Try same thing with wood glue, doesn't dry as fast but matches much better and holds better.

Conventional white wood glue and sawdust generates a better finish in my opinion. Been doing it for years. Its an old carpenters trick. The only advantage of super glue is quick drying
Very cool; thanks for sharing this.
I have an upholstery & furniture repair shop. This works but is actually too brittle for screws. It fractures if you overtighten by just a little. Tightbond 3 is better choice, behaves more like wood. Actually regular glue and a toothpick is better for screw holes anyway. Color match can also be a problem with CA.

I was a flooring installer for over 28 years. I learned at an early age the magic in round wooden toothpicks and Elmer's glue. Also, I carried a small tin of the dark brown shoe polish and if I scratched the surface of wooden furnature or wood trim a quick treatment of rubbing some shoe polish covered the scratch and made it invisible. That little tin of shoe polish saved me countless thousands of dollars on having to replace or hire someone to repair scratched wood. The shoe polish works so well the customers never even knew their wood received a new scratch!
Wow wow wow Thanks so much for the info... You d best

Very expensive wood repairs with Loctite. It is why I would have never thought of this. For those who are artists or miniature model makers like Weta or Adam Savage, then a great asset for them. Anyways nicely done video. Cheers.
amazing simple works

Thank you never knew this little trick. 👌🏻
And you can even do this with colored Mica powder. You could do super ornate inlays that way. Carve out your shape and use CA and Mica to make it blue, red, green, any color under the sun!
Thanks for sharing
Amazing 😮 Thank you for sharing 🙂 +++++5
,a cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you……
Nice works ,must remind that !
The problem is the stain won't adhere to the glue so this would only be for painted projects
Gracias campeón, buena suerte amigo
Very good video 👌😎👍
Very good 👍
... I had pliers with grips that were chromed steel and very slippery... so I ruffed up the chrome a bit then spread super-glue over the grips then liberally sprinkled hard wood dust on a few times... hey presto...super grippy grips!

As a Carpenter, PVA glue will leave you with a color that matches lighter would much better. Rather than a dark spot.
I love these videos
Some good ideas - though you can get same results with quick drying PVA
I need to do a job similar to the repair made on the plank of wood at 1:45. With the particularly that the wood piece being repaired is and will be subject to rubbing/sliding against others surfaces and it is expected to hold. Which will do better then? This saw dust or graphite + baking soda?
Where does this guy get his amazing music from? It's as healing as the video itself

Super glue and Paprika tastes delicious 😋
Bob Smith Industries makes the best “crazy glue” imho. From thick to super thin. I use cyanoacrylate glue “crazy glue” for filling and sealing of small wood projects. You need the really thin type for sealing. I also use the accelerator when I’m in a hurry. The “smoke” will roll lol.

Cool vid but for loose screws you can also simply fill in holes with a dowel&glue, then cut off the excess and you have a new surface to work with.

*Im gonna try this for all my wrinkles..* 😎
now this is great however i can confirm for sawdust you don't necessary need superglue you can use wood glue or carpenters glue instead for same or better result you just mix the dust and glue together in that case. it just takes longer

When you just can't stop filling in the tiniest cracks that you see using super glue in particular, OCD just kicked in. Time to visit the brain doctor.
Um, no...Use wood glue...It blends much better...Super glue has great purposed in carpentry, like holding together Cabinet Crown molding Joints or Chair Rail, base, shoe and 3/4 round returns...When the wood shrinks or expands, it'll pop or crack around the edges sometimes...
You get better results by putting the glue in first, then putting sawdust on the glue, then more glue if needed, repeat process as needed.
Do you have tips for crack ceramic floor using super glue? Thank you
