You guys keep talking of possession football. You all forgot that Posh in his 1st 18 or so matches, Chelsea was dominating teams with sometimes over 70% possession but still lose with counter attack

Who remembers all the sideways and backwards passing? Possesion style isn't the be all. Look at Arsenal, they've chased this style for a decade and won nothing. All style no substance.

I have a feeling that the Saudis have a say on how Chelsea will be moving forward due to their investment in Clearlake Capital. And probably they are the ones who are pushing for Jose as he is in Saudi now.

You make very good points. Pochetino's last games where caicedo cucarela and muldryk played looked very similar to De Zerbi system. Watching Chelsea play the last 5 or 6 games looked more vertical and take away like De Zerbi Brighton play. Something to think about.

De Zerbi is a good choice he ain’t Potter. He’s got a style of play rather than our “just pass it to palmer” style last year. He’s worked with a lot of our players and has shown he can improve individuals

Mourinho maybe for a year until number one target Amorim becomes available is the only reasoning I see. Mourinho lives in London and would probably be ok to try to work within the system when seeing the talent. He is ok with a one year deal understanding his roll knowing if he is successful he will have the crowd and in return owners on his side.

@@geir8849 this style of play only has mostly been successful for Pep, so others started following his style cuz it's exciting but the others never had the same success with it. Pep has always had the best players in the world in his teams so its no surprise that he has been successful. Put Pep in a team like Tottenham, i guarantee you he won't win anything. Having the best players helps you win the titles.

Stylistically de zerbi makes sense with the profiles we have but I don’t acc massively rate him, would prefer Amorim but I doubt we land him, would also prefer Xavi but again I doubt we land him either
