It’s funny how back then, when all these bands were coming out with new stuff a lot of us bickered over who sucked/ who didn’t. But now we’re all looking back and missing it all and appreciating it as a whole. We witnessed the rise and fall (2008-2013) of post hardcore. Times are different now and I think we all feel and know this kind of music, the vibe of it all can’t be recreated today. Feeling nostalgic as hell right now.

During those times metalcore/post hardcore was the scene I felt at home. Today TDWP and ADTR are still my favorite bands but overall the music scene died for me around 2014. Most of the big names went onto other sounds and genres and the newer bands never really got much attention.

The rise and fall of post hardcore didn't happen in 5 years and definitely didn't happen during that time period. That's all your personal opinion, which you should say so. The way you write you make it sound like you speak for everyone, which you don't. I doubt you could name ten legitimate post hardcore albums in those 5 years you claim it rose and fell.

Okay the whole Evolve EP is the best they have done, they are maturing and making better songs now. I'm sure the next album they make will be kickass.

As someone who used to love this song years ago i dont understand how any one could have hated this song.

im so upset that Alex left CG but then yet its bittersweet that he's getting the help he needs and he's going to start a new chapter of life and will be following his own path. i wish the best for Chelsea Grin and Alex. I hope Tom from Lorna Shore doesnt disapoint. Im excited for CG at warped tour.

Somehow this song feels so deep, like very very deep. Something I cannot ever understand. Better not ask, better not tell.

This song is a genre within and of itself. It's insane and I still revisit it 11 years later.

I can't stop listening to this song. It's so brilliantly written and sung it just milks every ounce of emotion out of the song. The combination of extreme angst high screams with such a soothing harmony is super unique, and powerful. A true masterpiece.

I totally appreciate their crabbing technique.

I'm newer to this band, but from listening to some of their older songs, it seems they went staight hevay as hard as possible through all their songs. The more mellow parts in this song give the really heavy parts character in my opinion. Great song.

2021 and is EASILY still their best release. The Evolve EP was legendary to me when it came out, still is. I don’t think they’ll ever return to this sound, which is unfortunate. I’ll jam this EP forever.

+Patrik Knowhow that is funny. I wouldn't call myself an elitist. It's not metal though. Just like hardcore isn't punk. I actually like some metalcore bands but some of this shit is too My Chemical Romance-y. That's not metal. Lol

Am i the only one that thinks this should be chelsea grin's permanent style? I mean, the heavenly distorted melodies played in the chorus are accompanied by aggresive breakdowns and a string shattering solo. If chelsea grin kept to this style, they could get a lot of positive feedback from metal elitists who think deathcore is just the same pushover shit. They could be the deathcore equivelant of opeth.

I used to listen to this song all the time in 2013, but ended up forgetting its name. All I could remember was that the chorus was sooooo good and damn I had to find it again. Then one day it suddenly appeared for me on Facebook and now I gladly listen to it all the time in 2021 too :)

Coming back to this song after so many years, reminds me why I loved Chelsea Grin so much during my middle school and high school days. Beautiful.

I do not understand the hate this band gets. This song is absolutely amazing. They have changed a lot since the first ep, but in my opinion it is a positive change.

This surprises me its a good song just very different i can still rock out to it lol
