It seems John Lydon knows more about this than Gordon Ramsay. Ramsay calls it sushi. Sushi is seasoned rice sometimes rolled or pressed together with a variety of ingredients often not raw fish... I think he meant to say sashimi and even then he would have been incorrect: sashimi is in fact raw fish but not actually served seasoned, that is up to the diner. Although no one mentioned that it was meant to be a japanese dish, it was implied just by the mention of sushi. It is more a ceviche which is a Peruvian or Argentinian dish most likely originating from Spain. When John Lydon said something about the turbot not being very Japanese he was right. The turbot lives in the atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean sea. Yes, Gordon Ramsay in this case CAN actually learn a thing or two from Johnny Rotten.

But as you all pointed out here, I wouldn't be emotional offended or think that is "incorrect". And what determines (aka. who cares; what matters) if I'm correct or not just because I am Japanese and grew up in the culture? Nothing. As he is much more knowledgeable and richer than I am, I don't care what he calls it, or whoever calls it, I will let them call whatever they want. At the end, what if things such as food aren't called what they're "supposed" to be called?
