If they're in jail for crimes that are non violent, they are able to buy some limited stuff while in there. They might also get access to microwaves and stuff like that. Depends on the level of security and the severity of their crime.

@@kathymyers7279 we make cook ups in jail all the time. It's better than the food they would serve us most of the time. You're allowed to buy commissary if someone puts money on your account. There's a list of what you can order and you pick and choose what you want. Most of the jails I've been in didn't have a microwave in the pod so we would just use the warm water from our sinks in the cell to make ramen noodles for example. You work with what you got and you become very creative from food, to makeup, to even dying your hair lol. Idk why someone said it depends on the crime you've committed if you can get commissary or not, I've met people who were in there for murder, about to be transported to prison and they were able to still order stuff. If you get written up for bad behavior like for fighting for example, then you have privileges taken away for a certain amount of time such as commissary, visits, or phone calls.

I love the little helping hands! Reminds me when I first started making videos and my little son (no longer little) wanted to help :) I miss those days. I bet it might be a bit better with less koolaid, but still pretty inventive for a jail recipe. Fun video!

When I was in prison I used powdered coffee creamer and a lemon lime soda with a packet of lemon Kool aid and mixed that all up. And use just the cookie part of cream cookie sandwiches and add warm water and it was very yummy.

micha moysesco I did the same thing with the cream cookies. We threw away the cookie cream and we didn’t use the koolaid. I was in Dublin California. I used lemon juice and I would melt a chocolate bar and Add it to the cream cheese and creamer mix. Made it a chocolate cream cheesecake.

That's what I have done for 33 years. LOL. Rice with milk, sugar and cinnamon was one of my favorites as a kid. Also tortillas cut into 4ths then fried with sugar and cinnamon on top. 😋 😋

Really love the Prison Ramen videos!

I love how you show love to the way the guys cook in there. I just got out not too long ago, but when I made cheesecake in the pen, we sell them a dollar a slice. Lol (just food for thought) Real simple cheesecake Ingredients Big bowl 2 packs of cookies (any cookies) 2 pack of powder milk 2 cream cheese packets 2 packs of oatmeal any flavor (optional) Any type of chocolate candy bar or muffin (optional) Take the filling out of the cookies and crush the cookies. Mix a little water to make your crust.( You can add the oatmeal or muffin in the crust if you want. Like I said it's optional). Once you crust is made mix the cookie filling, both cream cheese and powder milk together until smooth. (You can add sugar if you want it sweeter). You add your filling to the crust. Now you can either add the candy bar in the filling or on top. Let chill for an hour. Cut and enjoy. Makes eight pieces depends on how you make it. Have more recipes if you would like to know them. Some of them I have seen you make yet and I think you would really enjoy these. I I really enjoy your prison cooking series. Please keep them coming. BTW- yassssss

My favorite dish is called pretzel jello salad. It's basically a cake. It has a pretzel crust on the bottom, a layer of cream filling in the middle and the top is a strawberry jelly. It's soon good

I wouldn't mind making this with lemon flavored koolaid instead of the cherry.

You should try Kool-aid pie! It's 4 ingredients and I have now made SOO MANY versions of it. My friend told me about it and it's so good! 1. Premade graham cracker crust or chocolate depending on the Kool-Aid flavor you pick. 2. Whipped cream in a tub 3. Sweetened condensed milk 4. Kool-aid Mix it together and let it set up to 2 hours and your done. Sit back and enjoy! (Also I like to sprinkle nuts on top.)

i remember reading a recipe for prison cheesecake is the orange is the new black memoir. it was piper's go-to for prison celebrations 😂

You should melt butter with the cookie crumbs. When i make cheesecake i crush up graham crackers and poor some melted butter into it, mix it up, and press it into the pan. It worka just like a crust and tastes yummy!

My siblings and I are all born in July, and any year we weren't having a birthday party with a traditional birthday cake, we each got a cookie cake instead of a whole sheet cake or a little personal cake only one person would be able to enjoy. Its one of my favorite traditions of my family and I really want to continue it when I have a family of my own! (One year my mom baked her own cookie cake shaped like a regular circular layer cake instead of buying one)

That actually looks good. It's kind of beautiful that someone would be so inventive to offer celebration for a friend leaving prison.

"in a refrigerator or an ice filled bucket" - I laughed because it sounds so cute yet tough.... awwww

It had nearly opaque color coverage that sank into my lip lines within an hour of wear, though the color stayed on for about four hours. It took three hours or so for most of the sheen to go away. The formula was lightly moisturizing over time.

I'm trying to imagine the environment in prison while a guy is just casually making one of these recipes.

I like how nice she is. She doesn't talk shit about the food and she's open to trying it.

I have no idea what prison you are near that sells cream cheese ro the inmates, Here in Wisconsin you are not going to get so lucky, but we love our cheesecake also, o here is how it is made in the Wisconsin prison system. Everything on this list can be bought from the commissary except the butter. We get the butter tabs from our meals. What you need... - 2 bags of powdered milk - 1/2 bag of protein powder - 2 lemonade drink mix packs - 1 bag of sugar - 1 sleeve of Gram crackers - 4 butters What to do... - smash up sleeve of Gram crackers to powder and dump in bowl with 4 butters and 1/4th bag of sugar. - mix up until crust is packable in bowl. - take new bowl and add rest of your sugar, 2 bags of milk powder, protein powder, and 2 lemonade drink mix packs. - mix in with a small amount of water until a thick cake batter. - dump on packed down crust and Microwave for 1.5 mins on each side then sit on ice till cool.

Kool Aid seems like an ongoing ingredient in all of the prison recipes.

I love layer cake, it's so time consuming to make but so tasty for special occasions. My fave thing to do with it is peel each layer off as I eat a little square, lol.

Hello Emmy. I left a comment on your burrito video. Damn this book is cool. We can actually get all that in canteen. But the only thing is not a lot of places have microwave. The only one that I know of that we can use microwave outside of visiting rooms was a low level CCF. Anyways, on everything that cake looks almost exactly like the cakes my homie Bam used to make except he used state cookies instead of chip ahoy. Another really really easy but good cookie is the candy wheels. The most simple one is just use state cookies and boil the syrup (you have to get it from the kitchen workers and not that new dietetic stuff they be giving) in a hot pot. It turns into like caramel type stuff that you just spread on top. You could eat just like that or put M & M or whatever topping if you want. Peace.

I just stumbled across your KZread channel and I love it! You make me smile and as a former family of prisoners we love our ramen and other prison foods. We say it's slam night and everyone gets happy! Probably because we don't eat alot of processed foods now so yum yum. I have to say we haven't had the cherry cheesecake tho. Your awesome!

When I was in prison we used a bag of powder creamer a crystal light packet and water for the batter and crushed cookies for the crust .we did not have access to cream cheese. The dish was awesome and taste just like the real deal

Even though it's a breakfast recipe, more than dessert, I love Swedish pancakes 😍 I usually top it with some frozen fruit, that I blend together after I cook it down with some honey.

I too am impressed that it wasnt overly sweet since the koolaid was sweetened and you added sugar (good move because the sweet n low may have pushed it way over the top). I see a lot of people commenting about being amazed about the food items you can get in American prisons. What's not mentioned is that not everyone can purchase these items from the commissary. You have to have a good support system from the outside, work, muscle or a combination of the previously mentioned to purchase from the commissary. Sort of like the school system here

I love your jailhouse recipes. You can also make that cake with a layer of peanutbutter between the cookies and the cheese.
