Cheers, Lawrence Dai...and Surprise!
Ойын-сауық
James ends the night with a surprise for writer Lawrence Dai on his last day working at The Late Late Show. After reading a long list of all the brilliant things Lawrence penned over the years, he brings up the one pitch that tragically never made it out of the writer's room: A S'more Is Born. And Lawrence, a true king of a man, graces us all with a performance of his greatest work.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

I think Lawrence was absolutely right to stand by the song, but this was probably the best use of it because it came from his heart and it was great that he was able to finally share something he'd clearly cared about for a long time on his last day. I loved it, and we'll miss you and your writing Lawrence! Good luck!
I didn't realise how attached I was to this show and the crew. This made me cry. Farewell, Lawrence. I'll miss you.🥺🙏🏾💖
this is all about being part of the family. you can feel the love, im in tears.

Me, too!!!
I really love how this show says goodbye to their coworkers, in reality their fellow cast members. Its a family as well as a show. ✌️🦁
I love how James is so excited he can't stop laughing even before Lawrence starts!!!! All the best on your next step
That was amazing! Especially that moment when he realized he actually nailed it and got into it. Laughing and crying here 🤣😭
Lawrence was a pillar of Late Late’s comedic genius, your creativity and laughs you brought us will be missed! All the best down the road🤙🏼
thank you to the editors for letting us see so much of the crew interaction with Lawrence. the selfie with the crew was a really sweet moment
How did this not make the cut before?! It was poetic that he got to sing it though.
Lawrence, I 100% support you standing by this song. Brilliant. Best wishes in your future endeavors.
Where is Lawrence going?! That One Day More parody is my absolute favorite.

I was wondering the same! Does anyone know where he's going?
You can really feel the love. Good luck Lawrence 👏👏👏
Man this is the first late night show where I feel this genuine family energy and bond. So cool to have seen that out of the rubbles that COVID has left behind, this show has grown into something so unique and special 🙏
We are probably going to end up working for Lawrence Dai 1 day. Send gifts. Send gifts now.
Damn what a parody! I don’t know Lawrence but I feel sad to see him leave - all the best to you Lawrence

I love how they've spent so much time celebrating the crew and showcase those who contribute to the show. I hope they don't lose this as the world returns to "normal." Best wishes to Lawrence!
It's so sweet that you can see everyone scooting their chairs forward at 3:35.
We in Asia are amazed when we see so many ethnicities in such American shows. We don't have that luxury here (in Asia). It's so exotic and amazing to us. My hats off to you. Simply awesome!!
Man this made me in tears 😢
This was wonderful...best wishes, Lawrence!!! 🧡
This was absolute gold! ...like the color of Lawrence's marshmallows!
Lawrence, some of us love this as much as you do!! Best of luck in your next adventure!
That was epic! Love the send off 💖
So much love they have for each other x so beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Lawrence-“No one’s gonna enjoy it”….except for The Regulars 🙋🏽♀️😁
Thank you Lawrence! You'll always be missed wherever you are after this 💙 AND S'MORE IS BORN IS A BANGER!
Oh man, I have never been so sad for a writer to leave a show before. Everything he wrote is such solid gold. ESPECIALLY the S'mores song! We'll miss you Lawrence!
What a great way to leave a job…With the love and admiration or your coworkers and boss. We all deserve to be this lucky.
Loved it. Brilliant. And now I'm craving s'mores.
My new favorite song!!
I actually haven't seen a Star is Born. So, this is the original for me. A+
This show is by far the best late night show there is. I think it’s because it is a community of good, funny, talented folks.
This is what it must have felt like filming The Office or another hilarious show with a close-knit cast. I feel honored to be part of this and so glad they honored Lawrence in this way!! Best wishes, man, can't wait to see more from you.
Oh my gosh these staff is one big family full of love ,togetherness, laughter ,and kindness . 💙 Good luck to you Laurence ! 💐
Now this is a place you want to work; where ppl love and respect you so much they’re crying when you leave. 💕
It’s seems from the outside as a viewer there has been a conscious effort in the making of this show for everyone to be respected and be made to feel part of the Late late show family. Something I think James has championed from the get go. Like any family I’m sure they’ve had their shitty days, but as others have written here there is a good vibe running through this team and it’s clear they all have a lot of fun! This format of the show, the mucking about and the banter with the crew and band is one of the best things to have come about since covid has ravaged the planet! Keep it up guys! Good luck Lawrence!!!! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Im legit crying. This was amazing. What a good song. What a good send off. I however think that the Le Mis Trump song was his best work.
What a touching sendoff of a crew member
The band rocked that out at the end !
That was awesome and heartbreaking at the same time. His parodies were great. I don't want him or any of you to leave and I definitely don't want this show to ever end. :( :( :(
I’m crying like I have known him all my life…what have this show done to my life?
So much love on that set. I want to work there.
This is my favourite - and so seasonal. Love Lawrence, good luck at your next gig mate!
Did anyone else notice the incredible Synth soloing by Steve towards the end?? He was killing it!! Why didn't the cameraman cover him?? Man was doing a proper Steve Lukather version of the song 😁
So sweet! I cried a little. Good luck Lawrence. I've enjoyed the skits that were accredited to you!
Oh no! Lawrence you will be missed. Best wishes!
Hope Lawrence is going on to greater opportunities! Great song, but it can never top that Les Mis parody! That stuck we me for weeks, and I watched it several times. I might watch it again now, tbh.
Out of all the episodes, this one by far is the sadest one. Maybe cu I've been following the show but truly i wanna gudluck man and all the best. Wish could have been part of the team there hehe. Cuz i took broadcasting in college
🥺🥺🥺so sad to see him go!!! Lots of love for Lawrence and the best wishes for his next job
Awesome!
I love James sooo much!!!
What a beautiful send off!!! Now I’m sad 😞
I love the love in this show!

Man, i'm gonna miss Lawrence!! Wish you the best!!

I couldn't figure out what was going on, that was incredible
Nearly everywhere I've worked, if you quit, you're escorted off the premises. Two places I left and they treated me with either a modicum of respect or even gave me a party. I get it; if you're not working (in America), you're not making money; and I get it, some companies are too large to deal with people coming and going. But not every mployee is a cog. We're living, breathing beings with memories and emotions. This is fantastic. Where he's going, I hope they treat him the same way.
Pure joy!
Lawrence seems like such a sweet guy that everyone just loves, doesn't he? Wishing you luck in everything you do, guy.
Awesome
best moment of the week :D
Love it!!!!!
I would so love to work here🥰😘👏Fantastic Class of people 👏 🙌

This is going to stick! So funny and I love all of this.
The Late Late Show must be the most fun place to work. Forget Disney...this is the happiest place on earth!
Love you Lawrence.
As best of luck! So sweet especially when the band continues
Does anyone know why Laurence would be leaving? Is he going to another network or show probably?

I was wondering this too. Hopefully, they tell us.
THAT. WAS. AWESOME!! Why would they have cut that before? Lol In the long run it still worked. Loved how embarrassed he was at the start and then everyone encouraging him got his performance side to really come out. Good luck on your new path Lawrence!
this was joyous
awwwwwwwww!
this made me laugh and cry for some reason love the trust tree 🌲
I remember the Game of Thrones episode. It was great!
Why is Lawrence leaving us!! 😭
Awesome 👍🏽 a smore is born!!!!!
Who is shredding it on the guitar, sounds amazing! Or was that pre-recorded music??

It's actually Steve on the synth!
Lawrence knew what the people wanted. Rock on man!
Lawrence truly your best work!
Absolute peak "show about making a show". I hope Lawrence is doing well wherever he's gone!
That was a cute send off :)
This seven magical minutes and thirty seconds made me ponder something I've never pondered before: does TV have a Hall Of Fame? If so, this gets in on the first ballot. And now, back to more fatal levels of laughter.
He will be missed
Nice sharing talk show Vidio my friend thank for sharing this Vidio 👍 greeting from Indonesian traditional gold finder 🇲🇨🌸❤️🌷✋👍👍
Omg!!! I want to sing this at karaoke now!!
Hats off to you Larry! Best to your next adventure
This was such a great fun song - loved it . Btw when writers leave the show (or others like it) is it for better opportunities I assume What would that be ? Thx -
Cheers Lawrence
But why am I crying over s'mores
Loved it. Good bye Lawrence.
damn this is so funny. i can't ahahhahahahahhaah
He's wearing the Arthur outfit. Nice.
Best parody ever
Imagine if your coworkers turned into family and your place of work turned into your home. Just like is the case at the Late Late Show.
Maaan. He's pretty irreplaceable...
Thank you brother. I barely knew you. OK, I didn't know you at all. I remember just a couple little dry comments. But you know what man? I wish I could have. So I am darn glad that you gave me that little last bit of you. I have no fucking idea what the fuck you're doing, but good luck brother. Thank you for adding your beautiful self and humility to this Show that exists so much on humility. I mean that in the sarcastic Bill Murray sense, and literally
