@Matrixnukum that movie is the reason its legal in most states ,fun fact Oregon de criminalized pot in the mid 70s, if caught with an ounce or less it was a fine, however the republicans got control in the late 80s about the Ray Gun administration, without a citizens vote bumped it back up to a felony, patted themselves on the back Oregon beware, dont trust them

I never was a ''stoner'' but I always liked comedy of any kind. This was hilarious.

The van is made of weed, and the tailpipe caught the back on fire, so the cop gets high from it. I notice some people have no idea what the joke was 😂

Absolutely! Even just an ounce of creativity can go a long way. Watch for shapes in the clouds when waiting for a bus or listen for birds, count cars😄....the list goes as far as the mind can and it doesn't really take much most of the time.

Me and my friends lived like this in the late 70s/early 80s. Best time ever.

Funny thing is they were looking for some weed and the truck they driving is made of weed. Classic.😂😂😂😂

What an amazing movie that was/is. So funny! So completely filled with insanely funny lines. Everybody who was in that movie was perfect!! I remember I peed myself a little when I first saw this bit with the motorcycle cop. That dude that played that, did it so flawlessly that to this day it still floors me!

Did you have to wait in a lineup ? When I saw it the theater opened early for an extra showing ( second show started almost on time) Lineups with many people " smoking " , Everybody happy and enjoying the experience ! I have this on VHS !!!! And several working VCRS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To this day I have never laughed so hard or so much at any scene of any film, ever.

I saw this film in the theater, way back when, but haven't seen it since so I don't remember much other than how funny it was. Of course that is likely due to the fact that I watched it while I was "Up in smoke" myself. I need to get the DVD of this.

I remember the audience reaction to this scene everyone in the theater was high on something. People were crying from laughing so hard..

Up in Smoke is a cult classic, I remember when it first came out in 1978 just after I turned 18. Great cast and acting.

I saw this movie when it premiered at the lynn four theater in lynnwood washington. It was rated R. But my brother knew the guy who was selling tickets and he let us in any way for a matinee when the manager wasn't there on a sunday. My mother bought me both Cheech & Chong comedy albums for Christmas that year. Los Chochinos and Big Bambu. I've always been a big fan of these guys.

So cool to see them making a come back with such a classic flick. I didn't smoke weed back then, but man this movie folded me and my brother over in laughter. I really liked one of the first clips too where they carry the oil barrel fill with syphoned gasoline spilling it everywhere. lol Absolute classic. If you haven't seen this movie I "highly" recommend it.

Wow, all it costed them was one hotdog! If I could ever be so lucky!

I have an original issue of " BIG BAMBU " as well as a re-issue , no paper in original , (took 4 ounces to fill it !! ) got paper in re-issue . Paper in original says " Big Bambu " , re- issue has a picture of Cheech and Chong on it ! I have several of their albums on vinyl ! Do you remember " HEY MARGARET " from the " wedding album " ?
