    It's David Bedella, he's played the Devil in Jerry Springer the opera AND Frank 'n Furter in the Rocky Horror Show...look for the cinema screening on you tube he's brilliant!

    Soviet Machine is the epitome of a catchy villain song and I fucking love it. Molokov might be my favorite character in this version. Freddie is a close second.

    I prefer "One Night in Bangkok" but "Pity the Child" and "Difficult and Dangerous Times" were impressive as well.

    I think many of the changes from the original concept album weaken the show, but the Soviet Machine is a fantastic addition

    David is brilliant! He is so in character, he really knows how to act! One of the best in this show, I'm impressed One of my favourite Molokov, not too much by his voice (tho he does have a great voice) but by acting

    I saw Chess when it was playing in London about 27 years ago. The stage production was terrific but I don't remember this song (the soviet machine). I think it must be a new addition -- and a brilliant one!

    @@kotjatina1 as someone from Russia I can say that I do get a Russian folk song vibe from it, and so did the people I showed this to. I agree that some motifs may sound a little Jewish, but overall it has a great Russian-ness while not citing any real Russian music directly

    The song you’re referring to appears in the first act. It is known as ‘Diplomats’ or ‘US VS USSR’ or even ‘Dangerous and Difficult Times’. But you’re right, ‘The Soviet Machine’ reprises a segment from that previous song, the part that goes « but we’re gonna smash that bastard... »
