He stole the show in my opinion.

Soviet Machine is the epitome of a catchy villain song and I fucking love it. Molokov might be my favorite character in this version. Freddie is a close second.

The guy who plays Molokov is the best performer in this concert! The Soviet Machine was fantastic!

The Soviet Machine is easily one of the best songs in this show, it's so enjoyable and always puts me in a good mood when I listen to it :D

I prefer "One Night in Bangkok" but "Pity the Child" and "Difficult and Dangerous Times" were impressive as well.

Such a great song!

This is the villain's song, always one of the best songs

The stomp in Soviet Machine makes me laugh every time.

Menzel and Groban's voices are perfect and gorgeous.

I like how there's just this one guy playing the accordion in the middle of the stage.

8:15 accordion player's mouth opens and closes like a fish 😂

I think many of the changes from the original concept album weaken the show, but the Soviet Machine is a fantastic addition

David is brilliant! He is so in character, he really knows how to act! One of the best in this show, I'm impressed One of my favourite Molokov, not too much by his voice (tho he does have a great voice) but by acting

Love David Bedella in this number. Pure malevolence!!!

The Soviet Machine and Someone else’s Story are 2 of my favourite songs from the musical, gutted they aren’t in most recordings 😣

When her character says He’s working for Global. It big money”. All I hear is “My riot got you on TV I deserve royalty”

Same. I didn't feel Idina so in character here...

I saw Chess when it was playing in London about 27 years ago. The stage production was terrific but I don't remember this song (the soviet machine). I think it must be a new addition -- and a brilliant one!

@@kotjatina1 as someone from Russia I can say that I do get a Russian folk song vibe from it, and so did the people I showed this to. I agree that some motifs may sound a little Jewish, but overall it has a great Russian-ness while not citing any real Russian music directly

The song you’re referring to appears in the first act. It is known as ‘Diplomats’ or ‘US VS USSR’ or even ‘Dangerous and Difficult Times’. But you’re right, ‘The Soviet Machine’ reprises a segment from that previous song, the part that goes « but we’re gonna smash that bastard... »

at 8:09 : Look at the guy next to him. He looks like the guy from "Master of Disguise!"
