I've been using these for a couple years and finally just got my first sting through them on Sunday. Been really happy with them.
First!! Hey Kamon, what you just showed in the video is exactly what I have been doing this year, a lot of times the outside frames don’t get drawn out fast like the center ones do, so I slowly move a couple of outside frame a little more towards the center and they draw it out really quickly. I have had good success doing that. The bees will eventually draw the outside frames if you dont move the towards the center but takes much longer, that’s what I have seen at least. have a wonderful day Kamon

Yup you are right Grayson. Takes a little more work but it helps the bees work faster so it is worth it.
Thanks for showing us how you do your frame shuffle 😊

Kamon, a question. I had a swarm come in the other day.Went to look at it yesterday to see if they need to be fed. They had a very large wonky comb coming down from the ceiling. They were a little nasty so couldnt due further check.Any ideas how to rectify. ?
Thanks for the informative videos, Kamon. Keep them coming and we will bee here. 🐝🐝
Great information Kamon. I am buying some of those gloves!
Wow ! Kamon i really appreciate the information on use of pollen patties like that ! Cant wait to try this
I never liked checkerboarding they seem to draw out the comb on the old frame too much. I found that putting 9 new frames in a 10 frame box with one drawn comb the bees would draw out all the comb evenly. In the second use I would switch to 9 frame for honey storage in a 10 frame box. Love the information and video's Kamon.
Thanks!

Thanks Bill!
I lost two hives last year due to beetles. I was really sick and there was nothing I can do about it. Please. Folks don't let those little monsters get out of hand. Diatomaceous on the earth helps and actually I was told by another beekeeper that grub x is working phenomenally well for them but obviously they put it on the ground....

Several things help on the outside. I use a saltwater/vinegar mixture to kill weeds and grass like 10 feet from my hives. 😢 should use beneficial nematodes all under and around the hives. You'll need a sprayer with water to keep the ground moist for 2 weeks. I water until it rains. This year, you need more traps and when the tem cools, use checkmite+. I have only seen a handful of beetles this year. They only saw me for a second. I had issues a few years ago. That is my way, and I'm positive there are many better ways out there.
Good thing that you are feeding as I did not see much natural pollen on those frames.

1000% thanks for noticing. So important and so often overlooked
It is so good to see uu back on here thanks
Wonderful video! Would you continue to feed syrup and pollen patties to a new split if you don’t necessarily want to be able to split the hive again but just let them grow into a double deep before fall?
We get global 15% parties they are great
I got a box of those global patties and they're great but they're expensive. If you can afford it you definitely get what you pay for. I'm currently using a 40lb box of bulk soft ultrabee from mannlake, they don't consume it as fast but at $1.87 a pound I can manage that.

Yeah we definitely buy them at the expo when they are way cheaper since we buy a semi load all together.
Why do you lay your patty strips along the frame. I lay mine across them to give the bees more access to it

Did you link those gloves?

Yessir at the top but here is the link. amzn.to/3XnOgLX We use them for treating, oil changes, all kinds of things and they don't tear easy like the last batch I got from harbor freight
I know bees rob honey. Can they rob wax? Or can they reuse wax? if you were to drop a block or sheet of wax into the hive could they use it to build comb?

Oh yes, they do
I decided to go with these bottom boards. I got three of these and use food grade DE. Have you tried over and out to battle the ants waiting on rain to put some out

Hi guys if anyone knows about to how to make artificial pollen please tell me recently I make but my bees are not interested

Hey what is the marker on the front of your hive?
aint you got white dutch clover in your area? we got a lot. Cumberland plateau Huntsville TN. and sumacs then sourwood and basswood yet to bloom

@joekuder. Better check your sourwood, ours already half wy done here on north mid Alabama/south TN line(taft,tn) i was shocked and not ready. Everything else was ½ to 1 month early, but sourwood probably month and a half early
@kamonreynolds

Basswood just finished up for us and we don't have sourwood. (low elevation here) The dutch gives us a little trickle in the morning but that lasts for and hours or so and back to hungry bees
