    I love the smaller higher boxes, like your dollar store one🥰. If I need to use moss I use a clear cup and tape a cup on top...one per cup. It's easier to remove after growth. I could watch baby leaf videos forever 😍🤩. The teeny baby Jade is precious 💓. Thank you for the education!!

    I feel a bit silly but JACK IN THE BOX has the best prop boxes. Lol. Their mini pancake breakfast platters come in the PERFECT containers. They are about an 8 inch square and about 3 inches tall. The base is fairly shallow but it has a clear lid that adds more height. There is already one vent hole in the top (so you don't have to worry too much about opening it every now and then for new airflow) and they stack beautifully. And best of all? I don't have to be the one to eat the breakfasts....they are my daughters favorite. Lol. So if you can get a hold of the Jack in the box breakfast containers, they will probably be your favorite as well because I totally agree. I like the smaller, individual boxes rather than a really big one.they won't work for those very large leafed props but they are perfect for everything else.

    Everything I've tried to prop in perlite either rotted or sat there for months and did nothing. So now I've got corms in with their mothers and then I'm trying sphagnum for all the rest of my corms and my Polly whose got leaves but lost all the roots. With my humidity super high mostly right now (67% this morning) I took the lid off so the corms could get better light. The sphag isn't going to dry out in that humidity and they're close enough to the light to get a slightly higher temperature. You should plant up the mystery plant and eventually we will know who that guy is! Not only is your screw loose but it literally ran away! 🤔🤣 It probably didn't want to be a stake for one of the propogations 🤷🏼‍♀️ Besides my Polly the plant that's struggling the most is my treubii moonlight. Even new leaves are unfurling with yellow tips. I've tried low light, grow lights and now in the window. It's internodes got tighter with the window but still yellowing. Does anyone other than the people who just bought a moonlight have one that stays looking good?

    my treubii moonlight is sat by my east window in a coarse soil mixture and i water it every week (the soil is almost always dry after a week for me) with fish poo water from the water that i saved from cleaning my aquariums beforehand. Dunno wut is helping it thrive but all of its leaves are green and healthy and has had no yellowing for a long time since when i first bought it

  • @MarisaAndChew

    @MarisaAndChew

    @@lighttrustx do you use any chemicals in your tank? Even things that may change the pH or get rid of the chlorine etc? I don't currently have a fish tank setup and I don't want to, but I've heard more and more ppl are using things like stress coat and stuff in their tap water for their plants with good success, but it seems most ppl don't have a treubii moonlight anymore bc they are so picky! I am wondering if it is a case of them likely the natural fertilizer OR if they like the water to be treated with things... cuz if I have to I can always buy a seaweed or fish emulsion or even something simpler like worm castings to fertilize and I could try the fish tank stuff for my water... It's annoying to have a fairly expensive plant always looking badly while it actively grows and having no clue what one earth it actually wants! LOL My window is north but it gets a tiny bit of west sun as the sun sets (so not harsh). Its yellowing definitely isn't from sunburn... My alocasias and other plants all love that window so I don't think its a light issue...

  • @lighttrustx

    @lighttrustx

    Жыл бұрын

    @@MarisaAndChew I do use nilocg thrive for fertilizer in my fish tanks since they're all heavily planted and seachem prime as my chlorine remover. i dont test my water anymore since they're all stable now so im not sure now much fertilizer gets left over but i wanna say a low amount with how many aquarium plants are probably sucking it up b4 i do a water change. the soil it's in also has worm castings and osmocote for fertilizer too so i wanna say my treubii is getting plenty of almost natural fertilizer. tbh i didnt know much about this plant when i bought it so i dont know if they're usually hard to keep or not, i just give it pretty much the same treatment as my other houseplants in my room and luckily it's liking it 🤷‍♂

    thanks for the videos Jeff. I've had great success with rooting using prop boxes but often lose plants (particularly coleus) when transplanting into ProMix HP.
