Wow, can't tell you how much that means to me. I so appreciate the compliment and the support. Been thinking a lot about "real" style recently and actually made a pretty concerted effort to get back to - and unapologetic about - the basics about 1.5 - 2 years ago. I think it may have even been the subject of one of the anniversary posts on the site. I've always been a big believer and proponent of the power of subtlety. It's not flashy - and it certainly won't get your photo taken by a street style photog - but it's a lot sexier, among other things. Cheers.

I'm suprsied you don't have shoe trees, like most important thing.

Thank you for sharing! Awesome system, perfect for my tweed collection! My wife and I have the same issue, so your video has given us ideas. We've been debating about using California Closet and, now, we we have an option to further consider. The sliding valet bar/rod is a very clever and useful feature. The LG styler....wow!! Cheers!

You're very welcome. We were living in an 800 square foot loft apartment at the time so this was a really great system for me. Container Store has some amazing solutions. We've since moved into a house and, well, Robin has her own *room* for her closet but I've got a nice walk-in system. I believe it is from Easy Closets, but I think they are more geared towards contractors and people like that. It's not set up exactly as I would like it, but it could be worse. It was kind of a pain in the butt to call them to order a few of the fixtures, but over time I'll get it set up to how I like it.

@5:30 I also have my own valet rack. 2 screws driven into the wall right above my closet for the same purpose. Now all I need is that LG clothes steamer.

Great wardrobe. Every good man defers to his lady, in a way. She gets the closet and the best car. Not much for keeping my shirts on hangers (hangers leave shoulder humps IMO) but carefully folded on a shelf. Nice video, even now.

I was thinking the same thing.

Just saw this. We’ve had our eye on that closet system from Container Store...and now want the LG Styler!

You should definitely do a video on a set of accessories you have. Maybe ties, possibly pocket squares. IMO your choice in these sets you apart from all the other youtubers I watch. I walk through Nordstrom sometimes, see a tie or a pocket square and think to myself... "Yeah Brian would wear that"

Beautiful space man, inspiring. The one thing that jumped out to me was a lack of shoe trees. Any particular reason?

Quite a collection. My wardrobe is tiny compared to yours. It really is. Yet I could have a different look every day for a couple of months if I tried hard enough. However, I never do. I like to keep it as simple and streamline as possible, even selling off half my shoe collection. Only the best were saved from the chop.

Stephen Davis appreciate the support, Stephen. Yes, one is classic Colonia and the other is Ebano, which is really nice. More of an evening scent as opposed to the classic summer daytime scent of the Colonia. You might have noticed Colonia club on the closet shelf. It's a good daytime scent for fall. I believe I reviewed it on the site.

How do you deal with dust in that open wardrobe? Even in the nordics here we have a real issue with dust accumulating on fabric. A real pain.

Good question. The answer is no. The trousers you see on the pull out hanger are separates. I keep my suit trousers on the same hanger as the jackets.

You shouldn’t hang ties. You should roll them - it releases tension in the silk.

Sean Yarrington I do but I don't leave them in. Shoe trees aren't just for helping your shoes keep their shape, they're also meant to remove moisture. Talking about cedar shoe trees here. So if you leave them in you run the risk of drying out the leather.

I do, but only after wearing the shoes for a day or two. If you leave them in your leather shoes, you can risk the leather drying out too much.

@@hespokestyle Maybe it depends on the shoe tree, but all of my shoe trees from J.M. Weston have not caused any drying out of the leather. I have pairs that I've had for nearly 10 years and I've yet to see any drying out.

You shouldn't use them all the time. They'll pull too much moisture out of the the leather if you leave them in constantly.
