Check out a real leaffilter protected gutter.

This Leaf filter customer really regrets praising their system. It does not do what the salesman said it would. Yeah, the gutter isn't clogged but the product sure is.

As a LeafFilter installer, this installation method is very old and the product they offer today, no longer field assembled and comes assembled from the factory. No extra sealant is used to assemble and the mesh remains tight to the body with no variables of failure. I've been installing for them for 5 years now with 0 call backs. Also, let be noted that this homeowner has a insane amount of pine needles coming down from his 40ft pine trees that are hovering all around the house. It's no shock that he has a issues. I don't think any system would work too well with all those tall pines around.

Id get a leaf blower attachment for blowing out gutters from ground level. Toro, Echo, and Stihl have them for around $50.00 You have pine needles the hardest thing to stop for any gutter covers. Micromesh work good on a normal house with maple, ash, or elms. All the Micromesh types will get dust, granular, and pollon. They'll clog up and get allege. When the dry it forms a hard crust.

This gutter cover is flat. It will naturally catch what ever falls on it. Even covers that have a slight pitch will need to be cleaned occasionally.

A lot of these products don't catch enough water. Most of them clog when the small holes are blocked and with Leaf filter when the actual filter gets dirty they stop catching water which is sort of the reason you have gutters in the first place. The products that lay flat on your gutter are the worst because I've seen stuff grow on top of them.

I prefer to cut the trees all around the house to prevent this from happening. It's not possible sometimes due to neighbours' trees, but you have to go maintain this at least 2 times a year by cleaning it. Thank you for sharing this video.

Come on man, common sense dictates everything must be maintained to last. No gutter system is maintenance free. I have this on my house and I don't mind taking a leaf blower and blowing off the leaves when fall comes. It beats having to dig out clumps of compost from the gutters. I am happy I bought them. The only complaint I could raise is their sales tactics suck. Never go with the first three offers, They will keep going down on the price.

I installed a similar product on my gutters. It is called Gutterglove. All stainless steel mesh with aluminum frame. They slide under the shingle so there is a slight pitch to the gutter cover. However, I also purchased a gutter brush with a extending handle in case some debris lays on the cover. Easy to brush it off from the ground. Remember, NO gutter cover is maintenance free. None!

I like the covers. They keep the gutters clean. You need to press down on the screen where it attaches to the gutter creating a small dip in the screen which keeps the rain from overrunning the screen. I attached the covers with supplied screws that work well. I also got the free gutter cover brush that was offered for free with info supplied with the covers. I find that there are times when small twigs and leaves lave on the covers and block water from getting thru the screen. I attached the brush to a extendable pole that allows me to brush off the covers from the ground. All covers will require some maintenance, but these covers are pretty nice.

@@muskrat11000 Yes that is what I was thinking also. I almost bought some plastic-type gutter covers from Home Depot, but then I thought that I don't want to instal some junk that must be replaced in a few years. I'm sure that aluminum and stainless steel is a more durable material. I will probably order that brush also. I already have an extendable pole. I don't expect this to be zero maintenance. Just much less maintenance. I've been cleaning these gutters for the last 15 years, but I don't like it.

This is not what the Company's own advertisement says. They insist that the gutters that contain their products installed do not need maintenance regardless of what plant organic material is present around. They are being very explicit about that. So no, the defense of them being called LeafFIlter as opposed to EverythingandAnythingFilter does not hold water.

After I bought it I had all the gutters removed and new short gutters with downspouts installed just in front of the entry doors . I had just regular metal gutter guards put on them at the same time . To clean them I can use a kitchen broom standing on the ground in about three minutes . No gutter problems ever . The longest gutter is about five feet

The price you pay depends on how effective the BS is coming out of the salesman's mouth, and your ability to just say no. They start at $36/ft, and them drop the price for each no you give them, all the way down to "cost" which is $12/ft. Obviously given the results shown on this video, it's not even worth that. If it sounds too good to be true, you can bet it is

There is not a product on the market that will retard pine needles. This video is a perfect example of a product that is installed flat on top of the gutter instead of being installed for the continuation of the roof slope, which would help mother nature blowing them off. The purpose of gutters is to collect and carry off excessive rainwater. This system shown greatly restricts the gutters' ability to collect rainwater. Evident by the staining on the face of the gutters. Rigid screening is the best answer for gutters, not some fine mesh product that closes of 90% of your gutter opening. Finally, 5" gutters are the answer for guttering. Notice these 5" gutters really only have about 3" of opening based on being mounted to the Fasci. If you are building a home, use 6" gutters with rigid wire mesh having an opening of 95% to collect water.
