As Chinese, this “高考” it’s serious. It’s literally the turning point of your life, whether you’ll be poor or rich in the future. It’s 9 subjects plus 4 small subjects, you have to get pretty much all of them at least A- (85%) (560 out of 750 mark) to get into a decent university. Otherwise, your life will be ruined, and there's no fixing it. That’s the reason I came to London. I’ll forever thank my parents for this decision.

Plus no term breaks, only festival holidays (Christian schools only have Christmas and Easter holidays, no halloween or Mid autumn festival holidays) so like ya, it’s pretty tough and TIRING most importantly. Plus there are a lot of extra curricular activities, maybe in other countries you can choose to participate in those or not, but for our schools, u MUST at least participate in ONE or TWO. After school, I bet ALL STUDENTS, no matter in which city in china or what place, as to go to learning centres, which takes 1-2 hours, or 3-4 a day. It’s really hard and tough, but if us students in china choose not to do that and be “lazy”, we will fail almost all exams (except for big brains like ACTUAL big brains, then they don’t have to go), we have to do ALL THAT just to pass an exam or test, it’s because the exam papers, questions are rlly hard. Not easy. Plus the learning progress here in china is rlly in a hurry, if u slow down a bit, you will fall behind ALOT. Which obvs will affect your future exams, especially one which is super important, called DSE or A-Lvl. If you fail those or just do average in those, I CAN TELL U, your future will be absolutely ruined, maybe not if u work hard once again, but then u will be super behind. So it’s really important for us students so work hard even tho it’s tiring.

Infact we have certain dress code and we are not allowed to bring anything but ourselves ( a proof of citizenship/aadhar card and passport size photo that's it). Pen and definitely the paper will be provided by government. You are required to enter the exam center almost 2 hr prior for all the screenings and checkings. The gates of the exam center closes half and hour before the exam . Even if you are a minute late , you are not allowed as instructed the higher authority. And ofcourse the immense police protection which is relatable cause apart from entrance tests , certain secondary and high school exam questions first arrives in police station . It's the police that deliver the questions and deploy police for exams to be conducted smoothly.

IGCSE exams r kinda strict too, like compared to the egyptian education (i tried both), when entering the exam hall in IGCSE the invidgilator has to check ur statement of entry, and compare the pic on it with ur face, then they read out instructions for us to follow, like staying in our places and not moving any muscle, even our heads around, and we must have clear pens, clear pencil cases, no wrappers around water bottles or erasers. The invidgilator has to ask around if u want to go to the toilet, they even get someone to go with u and wait outside, if u take too much time in the toilet u will be suspected of cheating. If u break any rule, marks will be deducted and it will affect ur college admission because it will be written in ur CV or anything like that, idk I have never tried. The egyptian education let u cheat off everyone, the invidgilator see u and they do nothing, infact they let u, and they ask u to let others cheat. Not to mention how rude they r. That's why i am IGCSE. There r alot more reasons but those r from it.

we are lucky 😅😅😅 one time in an exam(a simple class test btw, it's not important like annual exam) I forgot some answers and then I opened the book from by bag and wrote the answers when the teacher was looking another way. even in annual examination we cheat from another student's(friend) paper and use sign language. some friends are so insane that they divide the chapters for revision and cheat together. sometimes we get punishment btw, like teachers will minus some marks or take the paper away for sometime, but if someone takes paper chips or something like that with some answer written on it they will get expelled if the get caught.
