    I bought one from Amazon, just arrived. I tried reading the instructions but I tend to learn better by watching so I saw your channel.I'm not a wood worker nor carpenter by any means but after watching I have a better idea, thanks much. I bought it to save time setting in hinges . I figured it was worth the money.

    Thank you. Just got a 110 model just like this one. I had almost the exact same problem with the edge and roller guides and the attachment screw. The screw I got to attach them is almost 1/2 inch too long to hold the guides. I'll work on a solution and probably keep the router.

    I guess for the price we have to expect the quality as not being very high just be careful when using it and if possible have a spare on hand

    Same with mine Dan, but also it was too tight to screw in by hand. I ran a tap through it to cut better threads and ground it a bit shorter and it's brilliant now.

    I am desperately trying to find a video or something on making a display for my gemstone eggs and spheres. I want to make various size crescent cuts in wood slices that will hold the gems. My eggs are all different sizes. I have an idea of what I want and bought an inexpensive router and Baihens 1/4 Inch Shank Cove Box Router Bit Set Solid Double Flute Nose Bits. Help?

    And if you take it apart you will find the metal casing is not earthed and its 50/50 if its switched on the live or neutral. I have four of them set up in custom jigs. I have rewired all of them. Good value if you have the skills to make them safe, and if you don't, but something better.

    They have an even cheaper version now, it's 15 quid. They fixed the bolt issues and even include a decent flush bit! They did however do away with the metal housing, it's all plastic now.

    I just got a dewinner that's an exact clone of the Makita. Even has the aluminum base for 50$. So far seems really nice. Haven't used it hard yet but has lots of power and the motor sounds really smooth. I mainly just need one for cove moulding and a round over bit so it should be fine for that

  • @shermanyoung8185

    @shermanyoung8185

    6 ай бұрын

    @evergladescreations9641, yes I had the same problem but I was able to correct it by taking the router motor out of the plastic holder and wrapping the motor with a layer or two of black wide Gorilla tape and that make the router fit snuggly in the plastic holder, also you could also prevent from moving by using a large hose clamp, hope this, although this was a year ago you probably found a solution.

    @dmgladden David, please let me apologise because not for one second did I think that you hadn't cut the power off. I was just in one of those moments in time when I had nothing to say, do, or think about other than what I was watching on the TV. I was contemplating making both a planer thicknesser and a router/milling jig so that I could, in some way permanently attach to my bench-saw table. Why don't you play around with the idea as it would save time and space. I've got an idea of what I am looking for but I haven't got a clue how to turn an idea into a practical workshop-friendly machine 😅. I enjoyed the video but I think I'd rather spend a few quid more than trying to make the parts stay where they should be. 😂👍
