Finally we got a gem on maverick

I received mine about 2-3 weeks ago. Same price $4.74 USD. Like yourself I was curious to see what it was like. It actually exceeded my very low expectations. For the price I'd give it to a kid as a first analog watch.

They cut out the middle man and all advertisement costs - hence this great price !

I've had a fair few cheap watches over the years, they fall into a few different types, the ones that break almost immediately, the ones that run okay but seem to eat batteries, and the ones that just keep going forever. You will never know what type it is until you have already bought it, the first one will go straight in the trash, type two will make you intimately aware of how to change a battery in a watch, and type three will be a good friend for a long time. It keeps better time than my Omega Speedmaster, although that is now a very battered 54 years old, but I still wear it most days.

I bought one and it's excellent I have not had any problems with it at all.

This is more a comment on how much profit other manufacturers make, than how Soki make a profit….

I Love budget watches, If you use it keeping it way from the water it will last many years. Later replace the battery with a Renata 😃

I've had a black faced one of those and worn it every day for about 4 to 5 years, changed the battery 2 or 3 times with a pound shop button battery, keeps good time - what's not to like for £4.50 (Also bought a mesh metal strap for it when the canvas one wore out for £2.50) magic!

How do you change the battery if you don't mind me asking? I own one too, can't work out how to get it open.

HI ; I've owned it for two years, I'm absurdly fond of it, it's incredibly precise and I've never changed the battery, I also like it because its dial is very legible and fairly phosphorescent, only the strap is a bit annoying, rough, but for what it costs you can't expect more, in fact I bought two more... I like them!😄😄

Just purchased one cost £3.99. Works well.

I just bought on of these, with a black face, because it was cheaper than a new battery for my old Lorus watch. I also have a 1968 Omega Speedmaster which I still wear most days but the Lorus, and now the Soki, I use when I'm out hunting, working on the car, etc. If it dies after a year I'll just but another. I also bought a longer canvas strap from eBay, which cost more than the watch! 😅

Plus value, you can change its strap to nato. The gap between the spring bar and the case is just enough for slipping in a nato strap.

Wow, the look on the dial looks like my Lorus RXF41AX7, this is a sub brand to Seiko and uses it's lumibrite. I think in Japan, there is a sub brand called Alba and has one using a titanium case. My guess is since everything is made in China, some entrepreneur decided to make a similar line there where labor is even cheaper. I'll stick with my Lorus and dependable quality, mine did come with a nylon strap, and there are many videos from UK (Loris is for the UK market). Cheers

That's hilarious. I just ordered one for AU$5.39. They've got other dial colours, but I really wanted that full luminous dial. I'm pretty sure this is the cheapest junk quartz movement from china, which you can buy for a buck or two. I'll wear this while I'm fixing up my 14 year old Nautica, and will probably continue to wear it for dirty jobs like mowing, car servicing etc. If it breaks or gets smashed no one will care. You could replace the movement for a buck, probably. If you can't change your own battery it would be cheaper just to buy another one complete. Back in the day, a $5 mechanical watch was still a chunk of change and you'd be lucky if it lasted a week. What a strange world we live in.

Its a LORUS Lumibrite copy, and well That's Seiko... Seiko has another brand that makes the same watch forgot the name

Bought a timex expedition and it did not last a week. This watch has lasted much longer

It was my only one watch 😂 for i used in 4 years then the case had corrosion on the spring bar's houses and i can't use it again. I like the lume, but the case and the machine was not too good. Now, I bought the budget watch that more expensive than it; Skmei 9112 but i really think that for the budget watches, this soki had better lume than other. If the case good, the poor watch machine on Soki will be safe. I had change this machine once bcs the poor case, so the water and sweat enter on the machine.

I really think the design was good enough. It's thinner than the other. And the strap good to used by me. Excuse me, for daily use in 4 years until it's broke. I put nato and zulu on it.

i bought one for 1,50€ , to take the battery and the strap as replacement parts but honestly i really am surprised at the quality of the watch

It's funny that it's really cheap in some sites, but in other sites it's more expensive. For example, here in Mexico, you can get it for around $25 USD (shipping included). I guess it's a good business for many people, because the make a profit. Maybe the chin*se are using it for money laundry or for distributing some virus.
