Thats a great tip with the beads. I was thinking of doing my own dacrons with braid already but the puller beads like you say are expensive.

I used coated braid to do my pole the other day as I didn't have a diamond eye threader it worked a treat and I only wasted a couple of inches where I tied a loop to thread the elastic through 😁

Bloody great idea, coated braid nice and stiff so would work a treat👍

Attaching the dacron to doubled up elastic looks like a great idea Ive lost a few rigs now with hybrid elastic beaking at the bead - going to give your suggestion a try

Two questions mate , 1. usinga a hard bead , do you think that , pulling out of a decent carp on the surface , the bead could damage a top kit ? 2. Any chance of a link to where you get the beads you use, I ordered some on Ebay but when they have arrived they are too small.

Got my beads from local tackle shop, look in the sea fishing or pike fishing section. I haven't had any issues with beads damaging top kit, but anything could happen I suppose?

just tie your old elastic to the new one and pull it through no need for a diamond eye puller

True I've done that before now👍.

I've seen people tie their line directly to the elastic without the dacron

That's how I used to do it years ago, ideal for bagging smaller fish. Down here in Somerset we have loads of big fish venues,so dacron a bit more hard wearing.😊 both work fine👍Dacron also better for slapping as it prevents ling dangling on pole😊👍

Buy Map TKS elastic 6Metres for 7.95 inc postage and do two top kits it's the same as dura.
