    I have a Audio Technica M50x + Audioengine D1 DAC + the ModMic 4. The combination is a little more expensive than this, but the audio quality is just absolutely phenomenal. However, I'm not really happy with the ModMic. The extra cable is annoying, and the glue of the magnetic thing you put on the headphones isn't the best. I'm thinking about replacing the ModMic with some standalone mic. Might have to get an arm to ensure the ramming the keyboard doesn't cause too much noise... It's tough to find a good combination for both listening to music, and actually gaming...

Put it this way, I won't be replacing my Corsair HS2100 headset until (A) The battery dies and it won't run from usb anymore. Or (B) It falls apart to the point where no amount of gaffer tape will hold it together.

    I went from Sennheiser HD600s, with a Schiit Magni 2 Amp, hooked up to a SBZ. Finally having a cable was enough. G933s were on sale for half off bought those for the wife, and was overall impressed with them. But they were lacking clarity, and something... Feel. Band was tight, and made compression a little to tight for my head. But those G933s were enough to start my research and the upgrade itch to finally move away from my aging HD600s. I bought some Arctis 7 2019 editions. And.. Well I just sold my HD600 setup. And I can honestly say, I don't miss them. And I am an audio snob. Full Atmos home theater projection room, etc. I'm the type that gets in his wifes car and hates the terrible muddied out Mazda speakers. So I was needless to say, very impressed with Steel Series. They are very light, handle extended gaming sessions. Have a nice breathabillity like an open back would, but still a closed back set. The low end falls flat around 48hz, where as the HD600s could be audible to 20 easily. However the HD600s just never had that push to drive that hz, so even if it was there it was easily drowned out by the mid-range. The Arctis 7 at least has a presence down to 40 hz, and makes it more known without drowning out the mid range.

  • @Manakuski

    @Manakuski

    Weird. I also have the Arctis 7 2019 edition and they are good, but the Sennheiser Game one with sound blaster z just blows the Arctis 7 2019 away. I use the sennheisers for music and movies and the Arctis 7 2019 for gaming. Even in gaming the Game ones are much better though, but i don't like wires when i am gaming.

    Huge Sennheiser fan here. I tried the GSP 670's and I've never been more disappointed by a gaming headset. The sound quality was fantastic, I found them super comfortable, really sturdy, but they were completely unusable. They made this headset purely wireless which I really don't like. There's no 3.5mm jack option. The 7.1 digital surround isnt available if you use bluetooth and the dongle connection is terrible. I was gaming with my head a foot away from the dongle and it would constantly cut out during games. I would have been somewhat okay with this if there was a 3.5mm jack to bypass wireless, but there isnt. The desktop software for it is really finicky, and doesn't often work/constantly has to be restarted. For a headset of this price, none of these things should be problems I returned it and am now trying the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless.

    @@Tecknition Yeah, my thoughts. Don't get cheap headphone. They're crap. I can recommend Mionix Nash 20 if you can get them cheap. For 40€ they're ridiculously good since they started at 150€ or something like that. Super comfortable, really good sound for a gaming headset and a great mic.

    $400 is actually still pretty cheap for a headset. Studio sets go into the 4 even 5 figure bracket. Like he said sound is VERY subjective. What sounds good to you, can (and probably will) sound like complete trash to me.

  • @xPandamon

    @xPandamon

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@bepbep7418 400$ is quite expensive. That's already in the audiophile territory or atleast beginner audiophile territory. Nothing a normal person would buy. You have to keep in mind that expensive items start quite low when the average price most people pay is low. And yes, I know. Sound is subjective. I've got my K550s for regular music listening, they're obviously not even close to the Nash 20s, they're way better. They're not good for gaming though, that's a completely different affair. My friend got some Turtlebeach Recon 200 I think and they're complete crap compared to my Nash 20s. It's funny. They've got an amplifier built-in (which means you need to charge them despite being wired) and a pretty hefty bass boost. Way to much to be used for long periods I'd say. The sound isn't that great in general with them. Build quality is Turtlebeach typical cheap plastic. Told him not to buy the first thing he finds. He never listens..

    Honestly, I think the void pro should always have 7.1 on if you are going to do voice chats. It makes separating voices so much easier and less stressful on the ears. Other than that I came from a first gen void to a void pro after my yellow jacket edition broke after a couple years. The difference between the two is honestly so nice and I’ve appreciated all the improvements, especially since I was able to reuse the dongle’s little docking station that came with the yellow jacket, allowing me to place it anywhere on my desk.
