Incredible video and tips on train tickets/traveling Megan, although you gave good tips about the train tickets and traveling, just hearing about paying them in advance and which seat you have to sit on sounds like alot of hard work and nerve-racking. Luckily in Melbourne, Australia, you don't need to buy a ticket or pass in advance and you don't have a seat number to sit on and you can sit anywhere you like. The only bad thing about the trains in Melbourne is sometimes they get cancelled and you have to wait for the next train or the train line you normally travel on would be cancelled and they replace trains with buses instead due to maintenance on the train tracks.

Very informative. (Even as me being a Korean American)
Hi Megan, thanks so much for all these awesome, informative videos!!! I just subscribed and have been watching all of these playlists. About the train ticket booking using Korail or Trazy, is there a way to pre-book tickets directly from Incheon to Seoul Station and Seoul to Daejeon Station which are flexible on the timings? For e.g., I will be reaching Incheon airport on Jul 29th. around 11:00 a.m. and want my train ticket somewhere around that time, but is there a way to pre-purchase flexible tickets that will allow me to board the train anytime during the day, rather than at a specific time like 12:00 p.m., just to be safe that I don't miss my train?

Hi! I love your videos and they are so helpful! I'm going to Korea in 2 weeks :) Do ktx tickets sell out on weekdays quick? I'm going to be landing at ICN around 6pm on a monday. Also, do you often see travellers lugging their suitcases onto the trains in the subway? Thanks!
@MeganOsten
Жыл бұрын
Usually I would say no… but there is a HUGE influx of tourists this year so I can’t say this year will be the same. I think buying tickets in advance would be much safer. Most train stations are very large-bag-friendly so you’ll be able to get around easily 😊 I would say usually large suitcases are not AS common since the train is often used for workers, but with what I said above, maybe it will be more common this spring/summer~ Safe travels 😊❤️🫂
Annyeong Megan, I’m traveling to Seoul next month and I’d like to ask some tips. I find your vlogs informative. I want to try the local galbi in Seoul. Any recommendation? I should probably buy all your pdfs. Im gunna get sooo lost in korea in a few days when we get there. never thought of going there before yesterday.
Im traveling to sk soon but only as a tourist for 2 weeks. We wanna visit Busan for a day only. Like go in the morning and come back in the night. Which train do you recommend.. also I’m only taking my Barclays Visa card so I probably have to pay in cash right.¿. Your videos are very helpful tysm.
Am I able to buy a one way KTX ticket or do I have to buy one of the options you discussed? Thanks for your help.
Do they still sell beer on the train? Used to stay drunk on the train to Seoul every Friday night . .. years ago.
is it also possible to use the KTX train with the Trazy korail pass?
Hi Megan! If I buy my train ticket in advance, how much time should I give myself between AREX transfer to KTX?
Hello Megan, is T-money card accepted for bus/subway transport in Busan?
Are these for subway as well? I thought we could just swipe tmoney to get on subway
ooh thank you megan!! i was wondering though, when travelling by bus and having basically no knowledge of korean, would that be troublesome? like when there is a rest stop i wouldn't know how long we would stay there. also about luggage, there's designated spots in the train and you can bring as much as you want. can you bring as much luggage as you want on the bus as well? thank you ~
@MeganOsten
Жыл бұрын
Great questions! 👏🏼 They give you around 10/15 minutes at the rest stop, but they count to make sure everyone came back before they leave! Just come back quickly~ Luggage goes under the bus (so you also don’t have to pay for luggage this way). I think you’d be totally fine as I didn’t know much Korean for a while and never had any issues (I just recommend watching my videos about buses - like this train video - for more information as well~) I will say… traffic can be a pain though… getting stuck in it on the bus is the worst. But everything has its ups and downs! Hope that helps! Safe travels 😊✨

At Trazy, can you buy oneway Ktx ticke? Thanks.
so unless you have a visa, you cant really travel far on the weekend?
are suite case allowed on short distance busses?
Hi Megan, is there a cheaper bullet train for 1day pass only? I don’t wanna purchase 2 or more days on train tickets just to avail the unlimited pass because i’ll be more focusing in Seoul area only.
can i use subway using the trazy pass?
You are the top representative of South Korea even though you are a foreigner~!
Can you buy on korail without an ID card?
Thanks so much for this video Megan!! A couple of questions: 1. Can the Korail Pass be used for any type of KTX train? I was looking for a Seoul-Danyang direct train and google search showed me a KTX-Eum (?) train.. 2. Does it mean I could go on e.g. Ulsan > Busan (KTX) in the morning + Busan to Daegu (KTX) later that same day? Since it's an unlimited pass?
@MeganOsten
Жыл бұрын
Great questions~ 1. The Korail pass works with most trains! If the train is called KTX then I will work. Most times the train has a final destination and maybe that’s not your stop but they might still list it on the ticket. 2. Yep!! That could all be done on one day. Two regular, seated tickets are included for every day! Feel free to contact Trazy’s customer service and they’re happy to help if you have more questions/want more clarification ☺️❤️

As someone who is visiting for the first time, what is the best way to determine which mode of transportation to use? Is there a map with all the modes of transportation?
@MeganOsten
Жыл бұрын
Great question~ make sure you download a map app that is used often here in Korea (like Naver or Kakao maps). You can enter your destination and it will give you a plan for how to get there! The apps I am talking about are in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqqXzJeLgtSTe6w.html
I have a question! Do i have to have my passport with me all the time when I'm out? Maybe it's a stupid question, but I'm just scared to lose it if i have to take it with me all the time
@MeganOsten
4 ай бұрын
Not a stupid question at all actually! Some countries require this. In Korea, it’s not required but you will need to keep some form of ID on yourself (so usually I would my driver’s license and a picture of my passport in my phone as backup). Some places might not accept the driver’s license but it’s rare. If you DO plan to keep it in your room, make sure it’s still hidden somewhere in your luggage (ESPECIALLY if you’re in a shared house or hotel with cleaner etc.). I even recommend buying to TSA locks I linked in the description box of this video and locking it in your suitcase to be safe. Hope that helps! Safe travels 🤭🫂✨
