CHEAP Siem Reap APARTMENTS near PUB ST

The 3 apartments all come with air-con, washing machine, fridge, and hot water. Lease is 6 months minimum. Internet wifi is free. Water is very cheap at a few dollars per month. Water is about 60 cents USD for a thousand litres.
But electricity is expensive compared to Australia. In Australia, electricity is about 27 cents AUD per kilowatt. (That's about 18 cents USD p/kilowatt in Australia based on current currency exchange rates.) Electricity is 25 cents USD per kilowatt in Cambodia.
There are no elevators in Cambodia. You will be climbing stairs, so good luck if you live on the fourth or fifth floors. 😂
The first apartment is about 20 minutes walk to Pub St.
The second and third apartments are about 15 minutes walk to Pub St.
All 3 apartments are in the Watt Bo area.
Check out Temple City Real Estate Siem Reap's website for more apartments and houses and prices.
The Real Estate Agent in the video is Sreytoch (translated into English means "little lady"; what a cute name!). She is very helpful and friendly and will pick you up at your hotel to go look at apartments.

I've spent a couple of years in multiple countries. The reason why you sometimes cook, is that there might be foods that aren't like "home". For example, I like SOS on occasion or a real "American Breakfast" with fried potatoes and onions and/or green peppers, many countries have no clue how to make that properly. Also, there were times when overseas that you just don't feel like going out to eat, as the weather was bad or too tired. That apartment is real nice though.

Yeah, prices are very affordable in SR. However, rents are even cheaper in Kampot! Also, lots of places in Kampot offer 1 month rentals. Currently, my room here with AC costs $235 per month all bills included. No contract needed. You can just stay 1 month and leave or stay however long you want. Fan rooms here are $100 per month all bills included!

@@Creees No, I live in Cambodia. But I own a home in Australia. Yes, once you taste Asia, it never leaves your mind. I will live in SEA for a year before going back to Australia to make more money. I don't work in Cambodia. I just enjoy my life and take it nice and slow. As you can see from my videos, I've been up and down Cambodia and for the next few months I will just stay put.

The only problem there is a lot of dust very fine dust on the road and flaoting in the air so not a healthy place to live. Also they are still burning plastic waste everywhere around the city and country

Yes, there is a lot of burning plastic waste in Cambodia. However, I think Siem Reap is still an amazing place to live. It is affordable, not busy, easy to walk around, and you can find many good restaurants and bars, and many people speak English here. There are also many nice parks near the riverside, and the riverside walk is very beautiful. The local Cambodian food is also very cheap. If I eat Cambodian food, it is only $5 per day. Western food is expensive here. Alcohol is very cheap here. But anyway, thankyou for watching. Have a good day. 😃

Hello, thanks for a very practical and interesting video. I'm just wondering whether the "little lady" agency also does montly rental on a month to month basic, ie without lease (of course the rent in that case would be somewhat higher...) We are just considering a longish stay in Sieam Reap to check out the temples. Also you mentioned in your comment that transport is also cheap, do you mean "tuk tuk" and how much would that be approximately for a trip across town or a day trip around the temples and ruins? Thanks and keep up the nice work.

kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZZ5k2Jl8o9LLcpc.html I Just uploaded this latest video which shows an apartment that can be rented for 1 month. You have to contact the owners directly. In regards to the "little lady agency", I have tried asking for less than 6 months, but they won't budge. In regards to transport, it is cheap if you use local ride apps like "Grab" or "PassApp". I use PassApp personally and I hate using Grab, because the PassApp app is a lot easier to use. A ride app is about $1 to $2 and this gets you across town. If you negotiate rides with Tuk Tuks directly without apps you will be paying 200% to 400% inflated rip off prices. Standard day trip around the temples will cost you $15 to hire the tuk tuk driver for the day. If you are paying more than $15, you are getting ripped off. So the tip here is... use the apps I mentioned... or be firm in negotiations. Passapp from Airport to Pub St and vice versa is only $2.50 which is dirt cheap. If you take a taxi car or tuk tuk or hotel pickup it will be about $10 from the airport. Hope this helps. Don't forget to subscribe, like, share, blah blah blah and have a good day. Bobs your uncle! (I forgot to mention, you can ask hotels and guesthouses for monthly rates... so don't pre-book a hotel for a month as you are paying per nightly rates... contact hotels before hand and ask for the discounted monthly rate... there are guesthouses here renting out rooms from $300 per month. I know because I asked them already!)

@@LOVECambodia Thank you so much for the oodles of info, mucho appreciated! btw one quick question: "Passapp from Airport to Pub St and vice versa is only $2.50 which is dirt cheap," and this will get you what kind of transport (van/shuttle or the usual taxi, tuk tuk?) I"m still new to the app world so just wondering if the scenario is you get off the plane get your luggage from the carousel and then get on the app to get rides? Will check the monthly rental video shortly (once I've calmed down...😃)

  • @LOVECambodia

@@newhorizon4066 $2.50 is tuk tuk prices. With Passapp or Grab, you can choose the type of vehicle you want. The better the vehicle, the more expensive the ride. Anything involving a car will be a lot more expensive than a tuk tuk. However, cars are generally only found in Phnom Penh. In Siem Reap, the only things available on Passapp is tuk tuks. Just so you know, you need to make an account for Passapp which requires a phone number. I registered with a Cambodian phone number and there were no problems. You can try making an account while you are still in your own country, see if it works. The Passapp vehicles are PINK and emblazoned with the word Passapp on them, so you can't miss them. GRAB tuk tuks are green and have GRAB stickers on them. Regular tuk tuks have no stickers or identification on them. In terms of SIM cards, I chose to go with SMART. Check their website. I chose the $5 per month plan which gets you 40 gigs of internet and free calls to other SMART sims. My plan is called "Smart ThomMorng". I also have found a real estate that does 3 months leases! More info in the future if I have time.

@@LOVECambodia Again thanks for being so generous with helpful and practical info (especially re "Smart ThomMorng".) I'm in Thailand so will look into getting a Cambodian sim from here...Just watched your latest month-to-month rental, got a chuckle or two when you insisted the landlady turn the shower on max. I was in Siem Reap in 2002, extended my stay to the point I missed my flight back to the USA. So next time I will be better prepared (starting from now.) If you have time or inclination, please explore further outfield accommodation. I first stayed in a boutique hotel, feeling a bit claustrophobic so after a couple of days moved to a converted villa "in town" (Siem Reap at the time was still a walking town) in a side soi off the main road. Quite an enjoyable stay thanks to its "colonial" vibes (20 bucks per night IIRC including continental breakfast.) For transportation I rented a Toyota w/ chauffeur for 25 bucks a day, soon downgraded to motosay (not tuk tuk) for 10 a day even though I only went to a couple of places each day, or quite often repeated visits to the same place.
