La Paz is a great place if you have money, very safe in comparison to other capital cities in South America.

Thanks for sharing these details. Were you able to find this place on common short/long term rental platforms or you went through an agency?
Nice video, I love seeing the narrator actually in the film. Telling me and showing me what La Paz has to offer make your video very creditable,

Sí, me sorprendió mucho la forma en que llegué allí. La ciudad en esa zona era realmente hermosa y mi apartamento estaba justo encima de una cafetería, lo cual me encantó porque el café también estaba delicioso. ❤🙏

I moved to the US several years ago and then realized quality of life is so low in the US, so I came back to La Paz, which is where I'm from lol

Yes, a lot of people come to the US thinking it’s such a great life, but everything in the United States is so expensive you spend all your time working just to pay your living expenses. in La Paz, it was amazingly cheap to live there. I really like it. 🙏❤️
Great video and great information on the cost of living in La Paz. It definitely is much cheaper than living in the States.

First time watching your video and akready a fan!! Im will retire in tarija, bolivia but now you ste making me consider la paz. Who knew! How do you like the the weather?
@TheTravelInsider

I thought the weather was absolutely beautiful. It does take a little while to get used to the altitude difference from where I’m from in the US to the 12k foot altitude in La Paz!
Thank you for the video! What about elevation sickness? How do people find rentals in La Paz!

I found mine on Airbnb..
Living in La Paz for 7 years now, but the altitude wouldn’t be a fit for my retirement plans :)

Looks really nice. How easy can an American get a permanent or long-term retirement visa? Good video, and good information, thank you.

Both are great choices!
Is the living in the clouds long term healthy for people from lower altitudes? People do eventually acclimatize but the oxygen levels are a third lower than the ones at the sea level.
@TheTravelInsider

Yes, the air is definetly thinner and you'll notice it for sure! I had to stop several times walking in the historic area. Where I lived in San Miguel it wasn't as hilly so it didn't really bother me so much!
I’m in Ecuador and interested in visiting La Paz to check out other cities. Do you know any expats who have been able to rent with pets down there? Thank you!

Do you have to move every month and find a new place to live? Can seniors get long term rentals so they can relax for a while?
@TheTravelInsider
8 ай бұрын
Yes, sir, seniors don’t have to move at all if you don’t want to. I moved because I choose to. If you wanna get a long-term riddle, I assure you it’s no problem.
Any thoughts about budgeting health insurance?

@BoydJones

@@TheTravelInsider Not sure. But I guess I was wondering how you handle health insurance and medical care as you travel the world.
@TheTravelInsider

@@BoydJones My health is excellent and I get a physical about once a year so I've never really had any health issues. Some countries offer a national health plan if you're planning on being a resident. If not the medical treatment is so cheap in South America, so much so that I didn't really worry about it
I subscribed. Have you gotten the Bolivian residency? Is it hard to get?
@TheTravelInsider

I did not get residency when I was there. I was actually in 5 different countries in South America on this particular trip!
Hi, my girlfriend is from LaPaz neighborough Irpavi. We plan to move there but I am a bit concern with the altitude and the lack of oxygen. I would like to take my Dad too but he's 78 yo and already with blood circulation problems so I don't know... How is your own experience related to the altitude and the lack of oxygene?
@TheTravelInsider

I have to be honest, I noticed it as I was out of breath often. Not so sure I would take your dad.

Well I speak a bit of Spanish so for me not so much. Depends on your level of Spanish I would guess, however, there are quite a few people that do speak English also

I was comparing it to the US because thats where I came from.. The grocery store in La Paz was quite sufficient, just not neatly as large as the box box stores in the US
Visit this city before retireing here. It is not for everyone. He failed to mention the many reasons you will not like it.
