Cheap and Easy Sun Visor Fix

How I fixed my sunvisor in my 2003 Dodge Ram SLT. The driver's side visor was worn and would not stay up or hold any position until I fixed it.

When there are 3/4 million viewers on how to fix floppy sun visors, its time for the car industry itself needs to go back to their drawing board.

We wish! This has been going on with many brands of cars since early 2000's at least. Can't expect logic or fairness from money hungry coprorations.

Same for shifter linkage. There's a small rubber bushing that wears out on basically all cars. So one day you go to shift and it does nothing because the cable's fallen off.

I am doing this asap. Brilliant fix. My visor has been sitting under my back seat for over a year. Most of the replacement ones come from the states ( I am in Canada) and the cost with shipping and such just did not make it seem high on my list. So here I am at 5 am on a Sunday, decide to search again and you video popped up. Don't know how I have missed it before. Anyway, Thank You very much :)

you know what's even better is twisting metal around the part that detaches and when you hook it; it creates perfect leverage. It even works with the velcro if that eventually wears out. It just figured it out!

Wish my 85 Eldorado visor would pull away from the end far enough in order to have room to affix the Velcro!! No adjustment screw anywhere!! I have another junk one I will try to cut a slot on the underside thru the plastic and hopefully slide a small hose clamp around the end so it will tighten the plastic against the visor rod. Since it is leather there isn’t a lot of room to do too much and I don’t want to cut into the leather at all...glad the velcro worked for the others though.👍🏻👍🏻

What I did is I slid the visor of the rod on which it is mounted and then slipped a piece of surgical tubing over the plastic part of the rod and slipped the visor back onto the rod and over the surgical tubing and VOILA! no more sagging visor...the perfect fix...like new in all ways and even better. If you don't have surgical tubing use a latex household glove and cut of one of the fingers and slip that over the rod instead...works just as well....
