Thanks for the hack...I used gorilla glue for the magnets. I was having a few problems with the foam tape initially staying in place.

Glad you like this tip, Michael. I use these domes with DigiBees all the time now, they're great! I used in them in my latest Cinematic Headshot "How To" video if you want to see them in action. Thanks for watching! :)

Hey thanks! Well, not as well. I cover this at the 10:10 mark for more info. The Einsteins don't have a nice flat face plate, and instead have a "multi-layered" faceplate that doesn't make a nice flat surface. And you have to watch out with the intensity of the heat of the Einstein's modeling lamp so I would personally never use this or just remote it entirely if you don't use it anyway. The good news is that this hack works for Alien Bees if you take out the modeling lamp. AlienBees are covered here at the 8:55 mark. Hope this helps. Cheers!

why don't you put the magnets directly on the the color gels filters first then take the colored gel and position to the digebee, I'm pretty syre that the stronger magnets will stick to digebee and the one colored gel will be able to lift with out any issues have you try that ?

That's what I did. The colored gel domes already ship with magnets on them. I added the stronger magnets to the DigiBee, and it has been working perfectly.

Have you had any issues with the heat from the lamps melting the foam tape?

No issues at all. In fact, I use these digibees with the LED modeling lamp at full power for hours on end when making videos, and there's no issue. Just be sure to get the foam-based tape that I mentioned at not that rubber type.
