I just saw a girl comparing yours to moxi and she prefers those: Ppl think Moxi is the elite brand because they have done a phenomenal job advertising. They’re a good brand but not elites the elite brand will cost you as much as a used car. I vote for the Chaya’s and that’s an extremely biased vote but with good reason. I did get the rainbow riders at one point and sold them. Not a fan. The boot is very stiff almost hard felt like I was wearing a hard plastic rain boot. It is also not at the same quality level as the other skates. It’s lower than the bunnies. The bunnies do run narrow. The moonlights are good but good luck getting them until who knows when. They are made in the same factory as the rainbow riders from what I’ve been told. The Chaya’s run at a level above the two moxies you have pictures here. They are great for wide feet. This is why I have three of them. Yes three and I love them all. The melrose elite has the most comfortable boot out of all the skates I’ve had (8 pairs total and I’ve sold a few). They come with the Shari plate which is the same plate that is in all of their park skate skates. It’s fiberglass and comes with the jelly cushions. The other skates you’ll have to replace the cushions almost right away. It also comes with the cherry bomb toe stop which is the toe stop many others brands buy to put in their skates well it comes with it here. The toes are reenforced and the material is easy to wipe down when it gets dirty. It also comes with outdoor wheels right out the. This is a skate you’ll get and don’t have to change a thing on it. Minimal break in period. You’ll be able to skate out the door as soon as you get it.

Thanks for such a deep comment! I couldn’t agree more! I LOVE my skates, and they only seem to get better with time! I don’t feel the need to try other brands, not saying I never will, but from my experience I can truly see myself and collection growing with Chaya😍❤️

thanks so much for sharing all that info! I am trying to figure out my size to purchase online (not a single shop near me to try on). Do you have any tips on sizing for the Chaya Elites? I'm following the guide online but there's some inconsistent information out there. I wear US 9 in sneakers usually, but 8/8.5 in sandals. I'm pretty sure my foot measurement is 256 mm :-)

I've got these and I love them, they are so comfortable and cute! I also use th for skatepark (beginner), and they're doing the job. I've had them for a year and a half and they are still great after many hours of use outdoor mainly. Definitely a win!

I love my Chaya skates. I have 18 years experience skating outdoors and Chaya (Emerald) are my favourite out of the 7 pairs i’ve owned. Sold my Moxi Lolly as I kept using (prefer) the Chaya skates. Chaya Glide are great. too.

I've been enjoying your videos! It's really inspiring and exciting to follow along with you as you roll back in to rollerskating and gear. I can't wait for my Chaya Melrose Deluxe (cobalt blue!) to arrive. I chose Chaya because of the comfortable, wider boot. I live in wide toe box athletic shoes, so I just couldn't conceive of squeezing in to the narrower boots. Thanks again!

i wish people would talk more about sizing

I definitely wanna get into roller skating and trying to look into which brand to get. Most of the ones I’ve seen that are decent quality are all so expensive - much more than the Chaya melroses! I do want to do some skate park skating in the future so maybe I’ll get some metal plate ones instead. Thank you for this in-depth overview! Really helpful in making my decision

You’re so welcome! I was informed Chaya makes a park skate called the Barbie Patin that has the same plate as the Melrose Elite! The difference is the Barbie is fitted with a grind block. They’re much pricier, but still less expensive than many other competitors. I hope that info helps you out too!

Another good skate option price wise is Sure Grip Fames you can catch these on sale for like 130-170. VNLA is also a great skate and they have super cute Parafait line but those are closer to 200. These brands are all great for someone who is newer but knows they will skate vs impala is good if you have no idea if you will skate and want to stay at 100 bux BUT if you end up skating a lot Impalas will need to be replaced after like 8-12 months if you skate regularly. JUST MY OPINION

You’re very welcome! I wear a 6 and got a 6. I will say that if you’re a half size it would be safer to go up a half size to an 8! Going down to a 7 might be uncomfortably snug.

I placed my moxi beach bunny order back in September only to find the chaya skates after my cancellation period ran out. I wish I had bit the bullet and bought the chaya because I am still waiting on my moxi. I just didn't realize I'd be waiting this long and the chaya's seemed like good starter. Now they are sold out.

Oh no! Those wait periods are wild! Hopefully you won’t have to wait much longer. Moxi is in such high demands, I’m not too surprised. I think as their popularity is driving sales to other brands and it’s becoming a cycle of revolving skate droughts.

Hi, Thanks for this review. I have a pair of Chaya Melrose Deluxe which I bought in July this year. They are my first pair of skates. I absolutely love them BUT, I need to change the cushions on them already and am having real trouble trying to source the right ones. They seem to be bigger in the Chaya skates than all the others and I simply can’t find a stockist. If you, or anyone else out there, knows where I can buy the correct size cushions for these skates, PLEASE can you let me in on the secret? - Angie

Hi Angie, did you ever find good replacement cushions? as of June 2022: I spoke with a rep at Inline Warehouse (Derby Warehouse) and this is what they said, "While we don't carry a replacement cushion for that skate, but you'll need a 16.5mm Barrel and 10mm cone" - I've not looked yet, but let me know what you find/found!

How is the fit? Do they run small or spot on. I am excited to try as a 1/2 size person...

This boot looks comphy. I wanted these but they are too hard to find right now. Soooo, I went with the Impala Cynthia Rowley skate because they come with a gummier wheel vs the regular Impala quad skate. I also have experience on inline skates and often did long distance on my inlines. With that said, I'm 40 years old now and haven't been inlines in 15 years. Hoping some of my inline experience will guide me in the quad skate journey..... My questions is, because I am hearing a lot of good thing about the Chaya boot, is it possible to replace the nylon plate with something more durable like an aluminum plate?

The plates are actually really durable… even considering them being nylon. The Melrose Elite is considered a lifestyle skate, but the same nylon plates are used on Chaya’s barbiepatin park skates too! The only difference is the park skates come with grind blocks. If you felt more comfortable long term using aluminum plates or wanted to get into more aggressive skating I don’t think you would have much trouble switching out the current plates for aluminum ones!

I sold them about a month ago because my feet grew from having another baby. If they would’ve still fit then I would still have them. I’ll most likely buy another pair of Chaya’s if I can find them in my size 🤣

How are the skates doin'? I had my eye on the same model you have but I read some reviews online saying the heels kinda detach after a few months use, so I ended up getting the Deluxe instead. To anyone worried 'bout sizing, my feet is 24.5cm and got the size 40 for Melrose Deluxe. Perfect fit. Greatttt beginner skates imo.

Good to know!! Bunnies are super cute, but there’s no way I would trade the padding or ankle support from Melrose Elites for anything!

These plates are actually approved for park skating.

@@joumiabou9746 on Chaya’s website these are categorized as lifestyle skates not park skates. The Melrose Elite Wheels (78A) are much softer than the wheels on their park skates (92A). I recently took mine to a skate park to test them out and have no complaints, but take into consideration I’m not an avid park skater and am still very much a beginner in general!

They have a size chart based on your foot measurements to double check the length, but as long as you’re a true size 7 then a 7 should be fine in Chaya as well!

Are those wheels good for outdoor skating

For sure! These are outdoor skates the wheels are 78A. Great traction against pavement, but soft enough to absorb bumps/cracks/small objects!

Hi, these skates seem really padded, do you find that the padding makes your feet warm or sweatier than other skates? I live in a hot country so I worry they may be too warm on my feet.

Most of the padding is in the ankle, not so much the toe box. I live in a pretty hot climate the majority of the year and didn’t think they made my feet super hot. I think thin socks would help if your feet get hot/sweaty easily!
