I’m a beginner and have just gotten my first skates. They are Chaya melrose deluxe and that’s a great decision! I’m eyeing for the Lolly but I’ll wait till I’m more confident without much ankle support! Meanwhile I’ll see how the Panthers would be ..

Great to hear. I’m glad I have the Lollys cause but it’s the look I like and I’m rarely using them sadly

At 57 I started back skating and skateboarding 😂😂😂 GenX on wheels and it’s not a wheelchair 😂😂😂

Hi from the U.K. I know this is a year old but I was just looking for some honest thoughts about Moxi lolly skates as I’m a beginner who’s been using a pair of Chaya ruby’s that I love for the last 6 months, been considering the purple Chaya because of the lighter plate instead of metal plates like mine vs the Moxi lolly & I think you helped me decide! I think I would like the purple Chaya if like you say you can also use them with grind blocks 😊

A year on I’m finding I’m using both pairs. The chayas I have the same Moxi light up wheels and adore them for outdoor skating still the most cushion by far. The moxies I ride every week at the rink and my confidence on them has improved. The same still applies to the lack of ankle support and the wheels on these atm is the Chaya neon light ups. They are fast wheels for a 78a. So I’m regularly using both but for different things.

Greetings from the U.S. 🇺🇸 I like this video. Great overview of both skates. I have a pair of Lollys and Chaya Melrose skates (in the latte gray color). I agree with you, I like the Lollys for court drill practice and a shorter skate. The Chayas are great for better support and a longer skate on the trails. However, I also love my Chuffed Wanderers for both the rink and outdoor skating. Give them a try if you can 😉

Hi there! I am definitely enjoying these skates and my confidence is way better on them. I really want to try the moxies again to see if I'm better now on those! I think the chuffed skates are made not far from where I live and they seem popular too. I do have a collection of skates now though as I have been gifted a couple of pairs too recently - probably need to pull back a bit on the spending lol - lets not even mention the wheel collection :)

I’ve tried various skates over the last 6 months, (besides the Chayas and Chuffed skates), but there are no substitutes for this brand. Especially for trail skating. I just can’t do Riedell skates. Had a pair of 135s and Lollies, and I sold them because they couldn’t stand up to the Chayas. This boot is so pretty and comfortable. May have to get the orange sherberts or amber Chayas. @@jeaninejulian2596 hi there. Still love the chayas and I too have thought about selling the moxies. Today some ankle supports arrived to wear with the moxies. I’m hoping they will help with support. Unfortunately to sell them is probably not worth it I notice people here having trouble to get enough money to make it worthwhile. Currently I’m off skates recovering from a hysterectomy 🙃. As soon as I’m back I’ll review the ankle support and hopefully it might help others too. Ahh I miss my skating. At least 2 more months for me to go yet

Hi, @jeaninejulian2596, I've been wanting to buy the Chuffed Wanderer but have been told that they're quite wide and I have relatively narrow feet. Would you say that the Chaya skates are better for narrow feet than the Chuffed Wanderer ones? TIA

Hi there! I just started two days ago. I skate with my 6yo daughter who started 2 weeks ago. I used to skate when I was little, more than 40 years ago. I'm turning 50 in July, started judo 2 years ago. I'm perimenopausical myself, with sore muscles and all my articulations hurt. Now because of you i know it's menopausal symptoms. I'm considering buying a Chaya because I own a second hand ones very cheap 8 euros (50 EU new ones). They are great, all skate students here use them but I feel I can indulge myself a little 😅. Hi Lidia. Glad I could help. I have been on these skates now for quite a few months and they keep getting better. I’m scheduled for a hysterectomy soon which means I will be off skates for a while. How good are we at 50!! Keep skating I say!

Would you say the Chaya's are arthritis friendly? I want to get a pair of skates so bad! I currently just do yoga and hula hoop dance, they are hard on my body as well but I am doing my best to still do things I love 💜

Hi Storm, yes I would say they are given all the padding in the sides and the foot as well. I would say give it a go I'm going through peri menopause atm which causes a lot of muscle soreness all over my body. I find the skating helps me to alleviate the pain I guess by just moving the joints. Some days I feel 80 not 50 lol.

Yes! Go with the Chaya!! I have severe arthritis in my left ankle from a triple fracture 45 years ago. I have a pin in my ankle. I also have plates in both feet from bunionectomies. I have the Ruby Red Deluxe and I just bought the Purple Evil Elite and both are super comfortable. I also have blown out my left knee many times. I started roller skating 8 months ago and skating is easier on the joints than walking. My ankle doesn't hurt and swell when I skate but it does when I walk 3-4 miles and I have no knee issues when I skate. For me, the Chaya skates feel like a dream around my arthritic ankle. I would recommend you measure your foot for the best fit - I ordered the wrong size at first and had to size down. My foot measures 24cm and mine are a size US 7. Hope this helps - there must be a size chart that you can match your foot length with as my local store was able to use that.
