I'm so glad I found your channel in the midst of planning my own, Erin! I feel like I can relate to a lot of what you talk about in your videos. I'm constantly feeling like my "rest and relaxation time" is really just me fighting an autistic shutdown which on the outside seems like I'm doing nothing but in reality, it's so exhausting and draining 😓. Also, I think your videos have been so cozy and aesthetic on their own! You definitely have a vibe that is just easy to hang out with, and I think a lot of BookTube watchers are looking for that in the content we watch, so I hope it brings a little comfort to know that you have reached a very supportive audience

Soooo happy I found your channel! I’m so so so picky with booktubers but your energy is exactly what I love! Cosy, real and fun. Keep making what you can because it’s your personality that keeps people watching regardless of what you’re doing in a video, I promise ❤️

I’ve really enjoyed all your vlogs, and I appreciate you keeping it real 😌 as much as I love to escape into videos with aesthetic shots and what not, it’s good to be reminded that we’re all just people 💛

I love your denim shirt :) I wish you as much ease, comfort and balance as possible navigating the requirements and idiosyncrasies of your body. I'm sure in some ways a diagnosis doesn't change the reality of what you already experience, but I'm also sure it's an adjustment, as you say. the good news in terms of your channel and followers is that you post on booktube, which is full of a bunch of indoor kids who skew afab/fem., so I suspect a lot will def be understanding of chronic illness + generally trying to figure out an equilibrium in life

Thank you for the reassurance! I’m sure you’re right (and I love the description of booktube folks as “indoor kids”). I had a nice vacation and I’m ready to figure stuff out 💪

I struggle with vlogs for of the same reason, I shut down before I can get to everything I want to do. I feel like even the pressure of making an "entertaining" vlog will push me closer to a shutdown or meltdown too. I'm trying to fit all these fun activities in when in reality, I give myself time to rest and recuperate, which is not the most fun thing to film or watch. I don't know if I'm articulating that well enough, I'm having a difficult brain day today, but thank you for sharing that. It's nice to find someone I can relate to on KZread.

I hate that you have to struggle with this too for your sake, but I’m also thankful I’m not alone! I’m hoping it’ll get easier with time, because I really do enjoy it when my body and brain lets me 😬🤞 May we find the swing of things soon! 💪

You totally brought me back to my childhood days of running amok without parental guidance. I’m so glad you had time to do you on your own terms. It’s always so refreshing to have that brief time solo 👻

Ugh, I hate it when the pot isn't big enough, lol. Been there. I honestly really enjoy your vlogs. I completely understand what you are saying, though. I literally just put nature shots in my vlogs and then cut to me talking about books and that's all I can handle. I wish I could do more aesthetic and beautiful things, but just not in the cards at this stage of life for me either! I'm glad you ended up having a nice time by yourself. Wishing you the best as you adapt to your new diagnosis and hope you had a wonderful vacation. :) Also, love your hat in the last clip!

I totally agree that weekend alone = rom com vibes. My Iris Kelly Doesn't Date hold came through from the library this weekend and I just wrapped that up today! I liked the anxiety representation. I felt like it was done much better than Paris Daillencourt Is About to Crumble by Alexis Hall (no shade to Alexis Hall, they have many great romances! This one just didn't work for me). I particularly related to Stevie's anxiety over the expectations/potential disappointment of her loved ones. Great tip on the silicone cooking utensils, I have some really old ones that feel gross to use but I wasn't sure what to replace them with. I also want to assure you that it doesn't really matter if your vlogs aren't an explosion of adventure and whimsy, or they don't go according to plan. I can only speak for myself, but the reason why I subscribe/follow people is because I'm interested in their perspective on things. I want to know what they are interested in trying (books, food, etc), their reflections/opinions afterwards, and getting to know them a little. Yes, aesthetic and content are important, but content can just be someone chatting about how something made them feel.

Your home alone time firm High school sounds like from a movie and I also love that you show a bit of your house it’s look so cozy. 🏡 OMG I also want go play „mail time” if you like cozy games I really recommend “Coral Island” its farming simulator with diving and it’s my favorite game 🪸 I love your big mushroom mug it’s so cute and the glass from begging of video is also amazing 🍵 When it comes to painting nails I think it’s such a cool thing for people of all genders you can show of your vibe with it and I love that 💅 Now I want to read all of Ashley Herring Blake books 😩 I understand how sad it’s it’s when you want to do nice relaxing things, but instead you lay down and do nothing. I know it’s annoying because you wish it wasn’t like this and I would watch your videos no matter what you do in them, not everything needs to be perfect but I totally understand that you want to make really cool content, but it’s normal and take care of yourself 💖

grats on your diagnosis, glad you have some answers and a way forward. you've sold me on these books too i'm normally very hesitant on romance but it sounds great. also i don't know about you but i don't watch booktubers or vlogs for exciting trips or to see them spending money i watch them so i can feel like i'm hanging out with someone even on a low social energy day. so there's no pressure from us to do lots during vlogs, you know 🤷‍♀

I don’t know what health concerns you have but have you considered seeing if lowering your sugar intake to see if that helps keep your energy stable? I also have a lot of chronic illnesses (and autism) and it’s helped me a lot to eat more Whole Foods and less sugar. You may already be doing this but thought I’d mention it as something to look into! (Also lower sugar doesn’t mean no sugar, I really want Rice Krispies now)

    1. Your shirt in the intro, I need it now please. 2. Yesss to the bland sweet things!!! 3. I feel you with relaxing time not feeling relaxing despite trying to pace 🙃 I’ll always be here to watch a real life staying in the house vlog, big time relatable. keep doing what ever works for you 🫧 4. “It’ll all be fine” is probably my most used phrase as a chronically ill person. Lastly, bud, I feel you with the trying to find balance thing, I’m deep in it myself. We got this 💪🏻❤️
