I had thyroid cancer around 7 years ago now and had my thyroid removed. I had to come off my meds for radioactive iodine treatment and it was awful and I said never again. I had black moods, no energy, constipation, muscle pain and body pain so I completely understand how this affects everything. So glad you called the doctor. I notice when I miss one. I also noticed when I'm sick now that my body just wants to go into hibernation and sleep which I swear I never had before. Take care xx

Hi Erica! I hope you get back on track soon and feel better! I listened to you talk about how you don’t get as many views on part two of a video and yeah, same for me! And, like you, I always think “don’t you wanna see the best part is at the end”! L O L! Oh, well! Have a great weekend with your family! 😊❤

I am so happy to hear you started your thyroid medication. I had my thyroid removed 15 years ago and I absolutely hate if I have to go off medication or if my dosage isn’t correct. I get so tired and cranky if I am not on the right dosage….i know you will start to feel better soon ❤❤

Erica, I can relate with some of the things you said concerning your health issues. I am going through something similar with peri, among having some other health challenges, including pretty bad anxiety. It certainly makes it a bit harder. I just wanted to let you know I can relate and empathize with you. Hang in there. I hope you are feeling better very soon. 💗 I didn't know you were from Michigan? I feel your pain with the Lions. I am a die hard Cleveland Browns fan. I live about an hour south of Cleveland. I have been a Browns fan since my Dad got me into watching with him back when I was around 11 years old. My team has never been to the Super Bowl either. 🙁 I love this color palette and adore this page in that book. This page is going to come out really gorgeous. How about doing all the shading on the lantern and then adding the metallic with a paint pen/gel pen (if you have one) in different areas to give it that effect, but still keep the highlights and shading visible? I'm sure it will look stunning however you choose to do it. Thanks for sharing! ☺

I have a friend that has been living with thyroid issues for yrs. I am sorry to hear that this is what you have been going through. I hope you have a lot of support around you. I write on my calendar when I need to contact my doctor to get my scripts done. However, coincidently, I also forgot as the holidays mucked me up. So , I have to ring my doctor on Monday.

Thank you for a great video. lovely colours, i loe to see how the pages turn out in two or three parters. I hope you are well now. i have a similar thyroid issue that i have lived all my life with and being at a certain stage in life it messed up with me also, so i know what you are going through sort of., and even here in the uk getting repeat prescriptions can be a pain in the bum! espeacially when they need a blood test before issuing. would be interested to know how much you pay for yours? we pay £9.65 per item now. love watching your videos. thanks again

My body destroyed my own thyroid in my twenties and I know exactly how awful it can be to have those body and mind failures from one thing being out. On the plus side I recognised the symptoms in my teenaged son and insisted that he be tested despite being an atypical demographic, and sure enough he also had autoimmune thyroid problems. I hope you feel a lot better soon, it should surely help. Just had my annual blood test, and yes, I was a bit late with getting it done but I’m back on track now

I find that if I shade with Inktense or Pitt pens then go over with the metallic watercolour I get the best of both effects

Erica, thanks for sharing your health issues with us, and I’m glad you got your medicine. I do the same thing. I avoid calling when I know I have to get medicine or something is obviously not right. I don’t know if I’m avoiding hearing that something really terrible is wrong with me. I’m glad you were able to go and enjoy the symphony with your husband. You needed that. Happy Birthday wishes to him, and take care of yourself❤. The page is beautiful so far. A bronze created with pencil would be beautiful because of the depth, but I can understand using watercolor to save your arm and time. I’m sure it will be beautiful either way.

Glad to hear you finally were able to get yourself to make the phone call, get to the doctor and get what you need. I have mental health issues as well, and though it’s not the same as ADHD, it comes with its own challenges and I can definitely empathize with what you went/are going through. Question about the coloring, you said you started the background with chalk pastels. Did you use a fixative on it before you started in with the pencils?

  • @Elmcolors

    @Elmcolors

    4 ай бұрын

I appreciate that❤️ And no, I didn’t use a fixative this time. I usually only do if I use a ton of chalk or if I use the chalk on top of another medium.

My sister has ADHD and she struggles just like this sometimes. I have high functioning anxiety and *I* sometimes struggle to do mundane things like make a phone call and I KNOW that’s so ridiculous but my brain is dumb. I’m glad you’re on the road to feeling better. I’ve noticed people specify Brutfuner “squares”; are they notably different than the round barrel pencils? Just curious! Thanks for sharing Erica. ❤

It is so hard when you know what you need to do and just can’t. Dumb brain is right lol. And yes, they are pretty different from what I’ve heard. I haven’t personally tried the round barrel ones, but have seen other trusted KZreadrs mention they’re very different.

What chalk pastels do you use? Where can I find the square pencils? I really hope your symptoms subside. It is definitely scaring trying to figure out what is wrong. It took me years to find out I had Crohns, MS, arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have ADHD and what you were experiencing is what my therapist calls adhd paralysis. Where you know you have to do something but your brain is fighting against you

I use the Mungyo chalk pastels, but any would work. Here is a link for the pencils amzn.to/49zcN3P . And with research I did realize what the heck was happening with the adhd. It does help to know what’s going on. So hard when you have conditions that people can’t see the symptoms. Thanks for watching ❤️

I’m right there with you on the multi-part videos getting less views. Sometimes it kind of seems like you’re darned if you do, darned if you don’t. Video too long…too sped up…too many parts, struggle to get views. I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten the health stuff straightened out. Thyroid stuff is scary and misunderstood. You don’t realize its impact on your entire body until it fails/is gone.

I'm horrified at what you have said. You said you had your thyroid removed. Did they take all of it? Because if you really have no thyroid at all, you will die if you don't take the medication! First you will lapse into myxoedema and then die. It's not a case of if. But when! You must never do that again. I'm surprised you lasted as long as you have. Thank goodness you now have medication. But please don't start back on the full dose you were on before or you are likely to experience a bad reaction. That might be anxiety or physical symptoms. You need to wean back onto a full dose. Start with half for a week until it settles, 2 weeks if necessary. I have to creep my meds up very slowly. To ensure this never happens again, can you ask your husband to ensure you always have thyroid medication in hand? I hope I haven't scared you too much, but I do want you to understand that this is a life threatening thing to do. Feel better soon. I can't cope if I miss my thyroid medication for 3 days. But I still have a thyroid so although I would be ill if I didn't take it for longer, I probably wouldn't die.

Oh Sue, I appreciate all the concern ❤️ Yes total thyroidectomy. And I know now how serious it could’ve been. No one tells you these things in the beginning. Just a vague warning to keep taking meds. If I’d known, I’m hoping I would’ve not put myself in this position, but who knows. I am watching my body’s reaction to the meds. The dr did say if I needed to I could halve the dosage for a bit. Thank you for your advice I appreciate it ❤️ I have been open with my family about all of this and now they are helping too☺️ I’m in good hands. Take care ❤️

I hope you feel the benefit of your medications soon, as hard as it must have been to talk about your health situation it is really valuable - I don’t think a lot of people realise just how important our endocrine system (all hormones not just our gender specific hormones) is and how serious it can be if it isn’t working (life threatening in fact). I hope you have support putting some measures into place so that you don’t find yourself this unwell again in the future. ❤ Wishing you a speedy recovery Erica 😊

Your ADHD is the reason that you have so many WIPs. Your attention span is shorter, so some of the excitement of starting a new picture is lost, so you go to another picture. You do wonderful work, so don't change anything. It's ok to have lots of WIPs. I hope you feel better soon. ❤❤❤
