Awesome video. The things you can do with ChatGPT are mind-blowing. Do you have an opinion on Microsoft's integration of ChatGPT into BIng search. In the start it was "this is the end of Google" and Google bought into it with a "code red", but does anyone go to Bing to use the functionality of ChatGPT? The UI alone of ChatGPT is so much better than the Bing thing.

Chat gpt still has no net access so the page in question needs to be on its dataset. The way around this is to copy and paste the text from the page onto chat gpt and then add your prompt.
Can I tell it to compare and fuse 2 similar Word documents that are several pages long?

Hi. Chat GPT doesn’t yet have access to the web but it’s dataset is made up of websites as well as books and articles so if the webpage is in its dataset it knows about it. If not, copy and paste the text from the page into the chat. Sorry if I didn’t mention this (I mention it in part 3 but I think I didn’t in part 2).

Nice video! However, tip 5 does not work this way as chatGPT cannot access the internet (as of May 2023). Instead, it comes up with haluzinations based on the keywords in the URL. So, for this scenario, Bing search with GPT4 is better.
@theycallmehoz

Chat GPT's dataset is made up of websites, books and articles. The last 'known' training dataset goes up to 2021 (according to Chat GPT) but they do update it (it know about Google Bard). If you feed it a URL that's in its dataset, it has the page in its database. In the next 10 prompts video you'll see how, using Dean Koontz's page URL, it comes up with 10 questions using the information that's on the page (things it can't get from the URL). In a different example I copy and paste text into Chat GPT because it doesn't know the URL. But yeah, it does come up with stuff when you feed it a URL it doesn't contain in its dataset. My guess is that, because of the way language models work, it will continue to output words because it doesn't have reasoning logic and self awareness to say 'I don't know that'.

I read another comment saying legal was torn out of chat. I have chat 4 and I just had it write a landlord tenant agreement. Maybe he's talking about more complex ones?
@theycallmehoz
Жыл бұрын
I didn’t fully understand what he meant by that either. For me it works so far. There’s aspects of legal in almost everything so it would be a useless tool if it could t draw up documents (like a contract for a graphic designer, etc). Maybe he tried prompting with something law specific (maybe contradicting a law that already exists, or maybe something that can be interpreted as not legal). It would make more sense that there are guardrails for stuff like that

1: I doubt all of the data is timestamped so even if it was actually trying to stay before 2012, it wouldn't be able to. It would likely yield decent advice however but thats more on point 2. 2: Decent enough especially if you don't know where to get started. I would be weary of hallucinations 5: It cannot access the links and is very likely guessing using info from the link or using information it may remember. Another commenter said Bing Search, but using the side bar Bing Chat is better for page analysis with the page open. 6: Be very weary of how much you post in a single chat as it has a finite number of characters it can interpret (including its own). The more there are the higher chance of hallucinations.

Thanks Ailerath. Regarding the link: you'll see in Part 3 that it's able to generate specific questions from a page (via a link). The page has to be in the dataset for it to know, as it can't yet access the web. This is why many links fail (in which case we need to copy/paste the page content). That said, web access is being rolled out natively now.
Dude I said Kodak well before you got few lines in😂

How are you able to paste in URLs? Chat tells me this when I do that "I don't have the ability to directly access or analyze live webpages or their content." (great videos btw!)
@theycallmehoz
Жыл бұрын
Chat GPT Plus (the default version, 3.5) has the ability to query the web using Bing. I’ll be posting a video about that in the next couple of days. But, in the free version, as long as the website / url is part of the training data, it works. In a previous video I pasted a url to Dean Koontz about page and got the Ai to generate questions based on the page (I think it was part 3 or 4 of series 1 in this chat gpt prompts series). If it doesn’t know about the page, you can copy /paste the text from the page. I hope that clears it

4. How do you know ChatGPT is not making up stuff about the hotel based on what other people disliked about other hotels? If you don't find that information in the internet, where should ChatGPT get this information from?
@theycallmehoz

Chat GPT's dataset is made up of websites, books and articles. The last 'known' training dataset goes up to 2021 (according to Chat GPT) but they do update it (it know about Google Bard). If you feed it a URL that's in its dataset, it has the page in its database. There are plenty of online reviews about the Savoy pre-2021. Also, what I was trying to show on the video is that asking the Ai about 'cons' can bring up things we may not have thought of. The Savoy is in central London and is an old hotel, so those 2 points about noise and decor are things we could have guessed ourselves. But the point is using the Ai to do the 'mental' work. There are plenty of situations where it makes stuff up, so some info has to be double-checked depending on what it is (ie if it's for an article that needs to be factual or a legal issue).
@SamyaDaleh

@@theycallmehoz Thank you for your reply. I would like to clarify that ChatGPT has no database. It is a neural network at its core, no database. It does not store any page data, but its weights are updated by its creators to give better responses. I agree that it takes mental load from you and points out things you could've thought about on your own but in much more time.

your Kodak prompt was half-baked: although you told it to ignore data after 2012, the fact is that chatGPT has been trained as of 2021. Thats means its mode/weightsl takes into account all the stuff that happened since then. The only way out of this is to train a chat with training data that has no idea of things that happen post 2012.
@theycallmehoz
Жыл бұрын
Such a chat bot may still not produce an insightful answer. The point of the Kodak prompt was to use the Ai to hopefully provide insightful courses of action based on current market events (which you’d provide in your prompt) rather than relying on staff of friends. The lesson was Kodak. Digital photography was a reality and taking over, and they utterly failed to even branch out. They were the market leader and had the resources and brand awareness. They would have had at least one meeting to discuss what to do next. So better to include getting more impartial advice from the Ai
What the AI does not know is that the Kodak process is transferable to mass produced electronics. The fault of Kodak was that it had a cultural NIH problem. All the data and intel was ignored if it came from outside emulsion chemistry. You are clever to ask it about Kodak, Nokia is poignant as well.
