Im a combat vet. I survived 371 missions. I got a Service dog 10 years ago. His name was Judge. He died this January. 2 days after his 10th birthday. Since the day I got him I begged pleaded and prayed God would take me first. That's one prayer that wasn't answered, and I have never been so lost in all my life. I never cry, not even at the loss of my baby sister. I have cried for Judge more than the rest of my life combined. There simply is no way to describe how amazing he was. His Vet donated money to the local Veterinarian College in his name. He touched thousands of lives. The way he went out was a miraculous moment. Involved a pouring cold January rain at 2 am where he went out in the yard and stared up at our American Flag, then looked back at me to see if I was watching. He died then next morning at 11:27. That's the time God took a piece of my soul home. I took down That Flag and Carried his ashes home on it. They are displayed on that Flag on the center shelf where all my medals and plaques used to be. My flagpole has been bare ever since.

You just made a grown man cry. Missing all my old dogs. They saved me more then they will ever know.
My dog Sadie passed away this morning. Absolutely sudden. She was 9 years old and heathy. Fed the best, slept in my bed... She was our kid... Typing thru tears i beg you.... Hug your dog. Pay attention to your kids. Because when God calls his pups.... They come running.

Not many songs that hit me like this. Went from D1 athletic scholarships and the world in front of me to nothing. Got hurt my freshman year of college and went down the road of prescription painkillers which eventually led to heroin since it was cheaper and I had been caught embezzling money for my habit. My golden retriever Charlie saved my life and is the reason I am here today. Got him June 9 2016. I did t get sober at that time but he gave me something to live for. I’ll never forget the day I was gonna take my own life by shooting an obscene amount of heroin/fentanyl. Before I got the needle to my arm I heard his whimpering g outside the bathroom door like he already knew. Needless to say I didn’t take my life that day. He kept me going until I could keep myself going. Clean since March 30,2018. That dog saved me life

Bro. That’s not ok…
Damn man this song tears me up. I'm a US Army veteran and when I got out I struggled severely with opiate addiction. Like the song I got a dog from a shelter (named him buddy) I wasn't supposed to have him because of where I lived at the time. But I got him and he's still with me today. Almost 12 years later. He's been through some of my toughest times, always been there for me no questions asked no words just love and loyalty. I'm long since past my addiction but if there was one thing I wish he understood from me is how much I appreciate him and love him. I have 2 young boys now that he's got to watch grow. I know I don't have a lot of time left with him. But I know he's happy and loved and in a way better position than when I found him. Never had a song make me cry like that Chase. Thanks lol Edit: It's with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart that I tell you guys we lost my boy Buddy today. He just didn't have any fight left in him and was ready to move on to the next life. I miss him so incredibly much. I have a hole in my chest and there's no fix for it. Well be ok but I'll never stop missing him and I'll never stop being grateful for him saving my life. I love you buddy, I'll see you again soon my boy. Rest easy big man's. 08 Dec 2023

Army widow here. Lost my husband 12 years ago to PTSD. This is one powerful song. Animals are so healing! I have a Manx cat that is a certified therapy pet and before I retired him, we visited veteran homes, nursing homes and hospice so we could bring some sunshine and smiles to the people there. I thought I was rescuing her from the pound. But all the while, she was rescuing me. She laid in bed with me as I fought my demons. She was always down for a ride. She was my best friend and I was hers. She’s passed onto the other side now. Her last breath was saving someone else. She jumped out in front of a car just to save. Child. She gave her all to her people. This song was a reminder, a dog becomes more than a pet. They become family and a saver. 💔

Man. This shit hit me really hard right now. Our family's dog needed to be put down about 2 weeks ago and at first i thought I could handle it, it just didn't fell like such a big deal, I mean I knew at sometime he needed to go and that time just came. This right here just showed me how much he actually helped me through the toughest times and just most of my whole life. He was always there for me and listened to what I had to tell him. I just broke down in tears, went out to his grave and just stood right there in the cold at 10 pm just to tell him how grateful I am for him and what he did for me all these years. I apologized to him as I moved out about a little before he passed. So I couldn't really be there for him as he was for me. (most of the family were tho) Maybe not that I couldn't that's just a cheap cheap lie I tell to myself to fell better about myself more like I didn't see the value in it. Thank you so much for this song. I can now start processing for real this time and this whole thing made me realize I should put more effort into seeing my loved ones and spend more time with them. So thank you Chase Rice! Thank you Knicki for being such a awesome dog, not just a dog but the best family member we could imagen!! We didn't really deserve you. Have fun up in heaven!! I must say one more thing, that this song is a absolut masterpiece. Storytelling wise the moment you realize it's the dog telling the story, as well as technically it is really good. You just have a talent and are using it for putting out things that help and move people. I admire that! Keep up the great work man!
It's the dog. Wow, the song is from the dog. When he says "I just thought I'd be the first called home" and "I've got them for now, see you soon my friend." Fuck, that one, just hits you right in the heart.

I’ve never cried so hard in my life but this video hit the top of my heart and I could not stop crying he left me a lab he had bought us for Christmas his name is panzer and he is still alive and I’m 2 months away from my 18th birthday I miss him so much and I will probably play this song for my birthday and show my mom. I’ve never cried so hard and this video brought it all back.
Beautifully touching and insanely brilliant video. The ending had me. Chase is a damn good actor!! This new album is going to be his best yet, he’s right. I’m already so happy for the success he will gain from it. Amazing work. Well done!

Okay i wasn't expecting to cry, but damnit you got me, my yellow lab Brantley even came over to see why and make me smile. I swear we don't deserve the love a dog gives us unconditionally
Dayum that cut DEEEP! Made me give my dog a great big hug! ❤
My husband struggled with drug's and at the end of his he drowned saving one of our fur babies so this song hit me hard this morning.I love it because our boys get me through the struggles when he was alive but now they are still getting me through his death a year later.Dogs know when you need them as well
Please excuse me for crying as hard as I did. This hits so close to home recently. Thank you for sharing this journey with you and your friend with us all.
I always put this song on when I’m going through hell and I need to purge myself. Makes me cry uncontrollably like a baby every damn time. This song is a work of art for the human soul.
Wasn't expecting to be bawling in my bathroom over a music video this morning, but here we are. Going to go hug my dog now.
What a powerful song. I dont relate from a drug addiction, but other forms of mental illnesses. And its an song that hits home other ways. We have a lab, and hes been there for us everyday of our lives to lean on. A dog will love you more than it loves itself ❤
Haven’t wept this much watching a video in a very long time.
14 years ago I was in a bad place and my 125 lbs pitbull Kingston kept me grounded when nothing could keep me sane..he lived 15yrs and past away recently ; feels like i lost a son/friend..this song reminds me of all the good times and the bad really thought it would be me to go first..damn i miss that boy
Welp this song is an instant addition to my "cry till I cleanse my Soul" Playlist. Mascara never stood a chance once I pushed play.

Hello there 👋 How are you? So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
Dang that’s definitely one way to get a grown man to cry amazing song
I listen/watch this video 4 - 5 times a day. It gets me every time. I wish my dogs could talk.
That was a heavy start to the morning... Good gosh... That perspective reveal had me floored
One of the best fiddle players in Texas. Listened to them almost 2 decades ago on small radio stations in El Campo Tx. Blessed to still hear Wade Bowen, Charlie Robison, Kevin Fowler, Guy Clark, etc on certain stations. This made my day!
I've watched this twice. Both times I've broken down into a blubbering mess. It hits home. Living with an addict is one of the most emotional roller coaster rides anyone can experience. The highs are so awesome, but the lows are so devastating at times. Thank you for this song. It touched my heart and made me feel like someone out there gets it.
What a great song! It gets me every time at the funeral!! 😢
This is such a good song but it’s so sad and I cry every time I listen to it!. Dogs really are saviors.
My Daddy, Bud Reed. I miss him so much. At least I can look back on this and hear his voice! Hallelujah!!!
Such a wholesome work of art. Thank you Mr Rice.
man i have been through some really hard times. i cant tell you how many times my dog has pulled me out of the dark hole i was in. she is 13 now and getting old. i will never forget how i felt bringing her home at 6 weeks old. she has been my shadow for 13 years. i know our time together is growing short and how it will break my heart when she is gone. i am just trying to enjoy the time we have left together. the Best Damn Friend i have ever had!

Dogs are amazing! That unconditional love is just unbelievable.
❤❤❤😮😮😮😢😢😢was not expecting this. I had to call my dog into my lap and show her so much love with a diffrent point of view of her life.😢😢😢❤❤❤❤
The most unrealistic part is the teenager leaving his phone when he went to the back. lol amazing song tho!!
im no cryer but when chase came to the house and told the dog lets go home i lost it. Chase Rice this is one of the best country songs of all time
If you can watch this whole thing without bawling your eyes out I admire your strength.
I haven't cried this much to a song in a very long time. Thank you for showing me I still have a heart.
Chace rice has so many damn good songs but this is his best song yet!
