You can see that he is very responsive to her, but he doesn't seem very relaxed...especially in the passage. She'd have to let him have longer reins and probably train him a little bit differently so he wouldn't be behind the vertical. Plus his mouth is open almost all of the time. I don't like modern equestrian competitions because money rules it all and the horses have to suffer from this. Sure, there are people who really care for their horse and treat them as their companion, but they're very very rare. Thinking of Ingrid Klimke here.

Wonderful test but... the wonderful horse has his head behind the vertical for much of the test. It is curious to see how riders who had practiced the rollkur like Patrick Kittel in this championship he has led the horse with extraordinary elegance and fluidity and on the other hand the new generations continue to close the neck of their horses and it surprises me, being a student of Carl Hester who was one of the softest of hands at the time.

Charlotte Fry unfortunately gets trained by Isabell Werth and her employer(dutch). You can obviously see the negative effects of that in the horse. Werth and so many riders from the Netherlands use Rollkur. And so the train others. It really is a shame that such a horse wins. Always behind the vertical, no frame extension, no weight on the hindlegs, no swinging through the back. Glamourdale literally moves from side to side during the Piaffe. Why did they win like that? Really, todsys dressage judging is screwed

How very proud her mother would be had she lived . Laura Fry tragically died at 45 of breast cancer , another young woman stolen by such an evil disease. Lotte was only sixteen. when she lost her mum who was her early trainer and inspired her to become the rider she is today. Laura herself was a consistent member of team GB. Now Lotte has taken over that mantle and on this performance alone she will be part of the legacy. Paris 2024 awaits. A lovely test to watch.

A relaxed mouth of the horse. A friendly look of the horse`s face. The horse`s head not behind the vertical (canter 7:00ff)... Many riders do worse. In my oppinion it´s terrible, the spectators are used so mutch watching riders pulling at the rains and fixing themselves with their legs at the saddles, because sitting in balance on those horses is nearly impossibles, that a riding showed in this video seemed to them like harmony. Please excuse my English.

@@dasreitteam4658 where did she ‘pull at the reins’ exactly? Her spurs are 90% parallel to the horse, so that seems fine to me.. The best you got is that he goes btv during one of the hardest exercises, especially for a young horse with a big canter? Going btv isn’t always caused by a lack of harmony or a resistance to the riders cues. It is often caused by a slight imbalance or lack of strength. His canter is enormous, which needs a lot of balance, if she wants to retain the nice open and upwards frame. He has 3(?) GPs on his name, give them a break if one exercise is not perfect yet.. And you want a friendly face on the horse? His ears forward also? 😂 what I see is a very attentive horse, focussed on his rider, with very few moments of any resistance. (Closed mouth, quiet tail, focussed ears) Getting close to harmony imo..

I just hope that the horse is not being hurt. Ultimately we have been given the responsibility of taking care of these magnificent animals. Let's remember to be wise and pay attention to the cues the horse gives us. His tongue out to one side may be due to too much pressure on one side? One time my horse had a lesion in his mouth which caused problems. Perhaps one should review the footage and seek to find the reason for this problem. I'm sure that the owners and rider want what's best for the horse first and foremost.
