The Daily Mail UK basically outed him a couple of years before this Matt Lauer interview. The DM had headlines that said "secret Hollywood A-lister has HIV!" It was obvious they were referring to Charlie by the clues they dropped.

Lmao at Charlie's expression when Lauer says, "Can we TRUST Charlie to take his pills?" It's like he's about 6 years old. I think the fear of HIV would encourage anyone to take the pills diligently.

Anyone with HIV knows that spiraling into a deep depression is not unusual and if you get caught into a cycle of substance abuse to escape and numb the painful truth, you might not be so present to take your medications. Do you honestly think that there aren't HIV + people out there who don't fall into such states of depression, feeling like abysmal failures that all they want to do is self medicate and die? Ask the gay boys who have been positive for years and still partying and smoking Tina and re-exposing themselves. The fear of HIV encourages many things, the least of which for some is the adherence to daily medication.

Um newsflash, complete abstinence from any alcohol actually increases Charlie's risk of binging but apparently Matt's a doctor and he can just make this call. It sounds like he's doing a really good job in his recovery and he looks fantastic.

I'm quite sure, you wouldn't sit into a TV studio either, just to tell the world if you were HIV positive. Than why do you think Charlie should or must have done this? Just becouse he is a well known person? That doesn't mean anything now. In this case he is just a "person", like you or anyone else. If all was true he told, than the only and really "Sad" part in this story is, that an ill person had to make this move to get rid of all the parasites (so called "friends"), who took financial advantage of his desperate condition from the very begining!

Can you imagine the stress and depression piling up over 4 years? Blackmail is just the worse and it goes to show that you truly cannot trust anyone. Well done Charlie -that must have been an incredibly hard interview. And obviously, you would be needing to tackle one issue at a time (in this case the substance abuse) rather than set your self up for failure thinking you could do everything (including the drinking) at once. You look great by the way, and you presented well.

I truly hate to hear this, I've known several ppl with this disease so my heart truly goes out to him and his family. My prayer is that he finds peace and the peace giver, and I pray that if everything he said is true about how he was extorted out of money for ppl to keep silent about his condition that those individuals have no peace until they right that wrong. I also pray that he was totally honest about divulging his diagnosis to EVERYONE he was intimate with...All the best to him, I will continually keep him in my prayers...

I do feel sorry for Charlie, he has obviously lost his way at certain points throughout his life. HIV is now a disease which can be controlled with medication and is most certainly not a death sentence. It's crazy it's so many celebrities that are HIV positive he's the only one with balls enough to admit it.
