This fucking song makes me cry every damn time. "Ain’t somebody gonna tell me what I’m doin here Aint somebody gonna tell me where I’m goin Aint somebody gonna spend a blank minute with me" Gets me everytime, tired of walking this path alone.

Heres a man who put in his time to learn his craft. A picker with a voice and soul that keeps the 'folk' in the music. I really enjoy his stories.

Sitting here at the Cedar Lounge/Earth Rider Festival Grounds listening to Charlie sing this song. Free concerts - at least the 5th time I've seen him this summer. One of the few good things during the Covid19 era.

I want my son to have this when I’m dead It’s a book I always start, but I have never read And I was bound to follow in the steps my dad tread And if I’d have known back then, I’d have fled Chorus: Ain’t somebody gonna tell me what I’m doin here Aint somebody gonna tell me where I’m goin Aint somebody gonna spend a blank minute with me Won’t you pray for an old hobo’s gone wrong Now everyday I wake up is a new day And every song I sing contains a new refrain When I see you again, will it change I’ll remember your face, and maybe your name -Chorus- Now this life is made up of long hours That last about as long as you can breathe And if you close your eyes and just let it roll on You’ll wake up and find you missed out on many things -Chorus- The woods around my house have no ending I really don’t live there - stoves And the lake around my town has no bottom I know somebody who dove in and never came home -Chorus-
