Fun fact: in the scene with the squirrels cracking open nuts, those are real. For that opening scene of the squirrels actually doing their jobs and sorting nuts, an animal trainer spent 19 weeks training a bunch of squirrels to actually sit there and sort nuts. The interactions with the girl are CGI, I believe, but they had *actual* squirrels sorting nuts.

A quick note, this isn't just a case of it being a Tim Burton movie, this movie is basically the book zapped onto the screen by Wonka's teleporter, with a backstory added Turns out, the original Willy Wonka movie, the book author just had all his decisions overturned and the book basically got turned into an hour long commercial for Quaker as they were a co-producer and selling Wonka branded chocolate at the time Yet somehow the Quaker commercial gets into the Library of Congress and not the book's TV incarnate?

The 1971 film is iconic, witty, charming, funny, clever, heartwarming, and whimsical. It has the ability to stand the test of time. The 2005 may be more faithful to the book and dark, but is much more awkward and not quite as solid.

Fun fact: the scene where wonkas dad had newspaper clips of his son’s achievements was added in because the exact same thing happened to Tim burton. Basically Timmy has a horrible relationship with his momma.( exactly the same as Willy had with his pop pop. Minus the candy stuff.) He went to visit her a during the early stages of production, for whatever reason, and afterwards he discovered that she had the poster to every single movie he made framed on the walls. So sweet. That’s why all the stuff with wills childhood was added because Burton basically wanted to insert this sweet moment with his mum into the film.

Mike is technically the second smartest character in this movie behind Wonka but only because he literally created sentient chocolate chickens and has had recipes for ice cream that never melts and other shit like that but Mike was very logical throughout this whole movie. Literally using math and reasoning to find a golden ticket into a little bit of that was probably luck, but still even pointing out how most of Wonka’s stuff is just ridiculous. He was so smart open till he decided to teleport himself completely forgetting the fact he will be shrunk down a lot

To be fair, although you can say "it's Timburtonism", that's mostly close to how things in the book works. Tim Burton is just crazy enough to correctly translate such madness from Roal Dahl vision. It's interesting how the titles are kind of inverted. In the other version from the 70's it's called "Willy Wonka--", but is far more about Charlie. In this it's called "Charlie--" and it's much more about Wonka. And yes, it's spot on for Roald Dahl's writing. It was also in the original. They go into a tiny door that actually is bigger than it looks.

@Lord Shennington The second book was a direct sequel to the first. Instead of ending off with Charlie and his family in the factory, the first book ended off with them and Wonka still flying towards it. It was also dramatically different because the book: - Had Charlie, Willy Wonka, Grandpa Joe and all of his family on the elevator. (Yes, they put the bed in it. - Had the elevator shoot out into orbit when they were trying to get back into the elevator. - Featured an empty space hotel that was about to open and was formally placed there by the US President. - Had alien creatures encounters. - Finally featured two very unorthodox candies where one makes you young by 20 years while the other ages you by a lot depending on how much you've taken. You should read it. It certainly fits the style of the movie, though I wonder how they're gonna tie it in as a sequel.

the thubnail is the best thing to grace the universe, it is the epitome of magical, before i saw the tubnail i thought that life wasnt complete, but my first glance and it felt more then complete. I rate it a 100/10 the line ‘who out there wonkin there willy’ was the greatest thing I ever have seen in my entire lifetime, i wish that my ancestors could witness such graceful artwork. It is the greatest tubsnail ever, to anyone who has never seen this tuubkail i wish you get to see it in your lifetime. To conclude my analysis i have never seen such gracefully made and produced work in my 69420 years on this putrid earth, it is absolutely marvellous and a significant contribution in the development of the great tebnuils.

10:25, that is the entire point of these side characters. they contribute pretty much nothing to the story at all, they just get wiped and the parents being stupid is by design, it shows since the beggining that they are awful parents. This is just to contrast the healthy relationship charlie has with his family. The german woman lets her child be obese just as herself is (that's not fat shaming, that's just a movie fact). The blonde competitor makes her child be over competitive to the point where she feels no empathy for other people. The rich girl is spoiled by her spineless father even though he spoils her out of apparent love. The smart kid is pretty much the same thing as the blonde girl, he doesn't have empathy due to the fact he's so brainy and his parents are also spineless like the rich guy, but out of fear their own child because he's so smart.

This movie was already hilarious and fun to watch, but the way you edited it made it 10 times funnier and enjoyable to watch.
