Charlie Adelson’s Sister Will 'Likely' Be Arrested Now That Mom is in Custody: Dan Markel’s Lawyer

Ойын-сауық

Jail calls between Charlie Adelson and his mother, Donna Adelson, uncover their shock over testimony from his sister, Wendi Adelson, at his trial for the murder of Wendi’s husband, Dan Markel. Wendi revealed she drove by Markel’s house after he was gunned down in his driveway and left to die. The Law&Crime Network's Angenette Levy talks with Stephen Webster, who represented Markel in his divorce proceedings with Wendi, about the bombshell jail calls and why he think’s Wendi’s arrest will likely be next.

Her "explanation" in itself makes her sound guilty. At first, I didn't believe, or didn't WANT to believe, that Wendi had ANYTHING to do with Dan's murder. But her driving by the crime scene, without trying to find out WHAT happened and to who; her buying the "Bullit Bourbon" and the fact that the killers KNEW where to find Dan in Tallahassee... those are TOO MANY coincidences to just write off. And I didn't hear Wendi say ANYTHING good about the father of her children, in fact, at Charlie's trial, one of the first things she said about Dan is that he "has a girlfriend?! Who cares about THAT?! Her ex-husband was MURDERED! I would have been afraid that maybe I would be next!

Dan had his head in the clouds, going into this marriage. He saw the red flags and said he hoped they'd work them out after they were married. That's hardly a winning strategy. Sadly, he wound up marrying into an entire clan of psychopaths (save for the eldest son who finally had the good sense to get out of Dodge for his own sanity). And I wish it against the law across the board in a divorce for any parent to remove the children they share out of the state w/o both parties consent while their children remain minors. It takes any legal wrangling over it out of the equation altogether if it out if it's written in stone. Both parents should have equal right to have as close, physical access to their children as the other parent. Move wherever you want when you're children are adults.

Police generally don't enter the picture unless there's human injury and/or malfeasance.

You know what's EXTRA disgusting? They sent these hitmen (who, correct me if I'm wrong, were members of a dangerous gang and also total strangers) to kill Dan while he had custody of the children. What if he went to drop them off at school and one of the boys said, "I don't feel good" and he took him home? If the hitman had approached the car with a child still in it, what would he have done? My guess would be that he'd still execute the plan and the little boy would watch. Plus, if Dan had the kids and Wendi drove by the house and the road was blocked by police tape...Wouldn't she immediately worry that maybe something happened to her children? That would be my first thought. "I need to make sure that Dan and the kids are OK." Unless I was aware of the hit ahead of time and already knew what happened. And I'm pretty nosey anyway. I think most people are. If you saw that there was police tape blocking the street where you used to live, wouldn't you want to know what happened? Was there a gas leak or a fire? Was there a robbery? Are one of my ex-neighbors seriously injured? Wendi was just like, "Nah, can't go that way because of the police tape, so I'll just turn around and keep driving."

Wendi's reactions seem authentic at times, but there is something unnatural about them. Did anyone else notice she goes from talking in a fairly matter of fact way about details, and then she moves into these emotional doldrums...like she remembers she has not "cried" enough. Sometimes her distressed grimaces look like smiles...like she can't quite get the look she practiced right. Remember, the first attempted hit was a month before, so she probably practiced for awhile.

A statement expert would have a field day with her interview. There’s so much to pick apart… unnecessary information, offering too much information, being “extra” helpful. And her statement after calling her parents with the news that she was relieved that they were surprised??? Off the rails.

I hope that too, and that the Markels honor those boys' great grandparents by returning to their Jewish roots. Jewish education never ends, and it would bring them closer in understanding who their father was and how his greatness continues to bless this world.

I will feel justice served once Wendi is behind bars like the rest of them. You cannot convince me she wasn't part of this too. I keep saying this but god I hope those innocent boys google their mom and her family and see just who murdered their father. It's so sad!!! She changed their last name. Drove right to the crime scene but didn't call her ex-husband to see if everyone was ok. "I thought it was blocked" Girl, bye. You didn't call to check on your kids because you knew. Arrest her ASAP!!!!

Those are disgusting things to say. Wendi is innocent until proven guilty and even though there’s plenty of hard evidence to convict Donna, there’s only very weak circumstantial evidence on Wendi, most of which is contradictory. If Wendi wasn’t involved in the plan then her boys deserve to know that and she deserves respect for avoiding involvement when Charlie suggested the hit in the first place.

I lost my children to parental alienation. I will spend Christmas alone. It’s very difficult divorcing a narcissist. I had to move away for a while he told my children your mother abandoned you but I was afraid for my life. Wendi got narcissist injury and she want to destroy him in any way. That injury is because he didn’t read her book. Narcissist are very dangerous.

It seems that the mother-in-law hated him even before they married. She had food at the reception that wasn’t kosher. That’s what was important to Dan and they embarrassed him and probably angered him. That wasn’t a good way to start a marriage.

I got on google maps and found Trescott Dr. Trescott is a pretty long curvy road. There is no way that 1.) Wendy would have taken that as a shortcut when it absolutely was not one. 2.) you could not have seen the police cars or lights from Centerville Rd. There is no way there was a blockade at the beginning of the road. There were way too many people that had to access other parts of Trescott. 3.) Wendy said in previous testimony that she did a three point turn and got back on Centerville. This last time she said she just kept driving never turning on Trescott. 4.) police interview she says something totally different than the other two times. Which is it Wendi???

Interesting that Wendi didn't tell her mother and brother that she was about to drive by the house when they talked on the phone prior to her doing it and never told them after she did. Given that her book was written before Dan's murder - I'm sure her brother will come to the conflusion that they've all been played.

"Do you think someone would do this for your benefit...?" Yeah, if you whine, lie, complain, tell all of your business, and convince the sucker or suckers that only they have the power to rescue you by any means necessary. She instigated/incited a murder. - which is also a crime - and she ought to be ashamed of herself for ruining so many people's lives then walking around like she don't know what's going on.
