Join us for a walk around Charlestown, Cornwall, UK. We start our walk on the coast path with fabulous views of Charlestown harbour. On this Cornwall walk we explore the historic Charlestown harbour take a quick look at Charlestown beach and walk through lovely Charlestown town.
Charlestown is a village and port on the south coast of Cornwall, United Kingdom, situated 2 miles south east of St Austell town centre.
Charlestown Cornwall is a fantastically well preserved and unspoiled example of a late Georgian working port. It was constructed between 1791 and 1801 by Charles Rashleigh, in response to the growth of the local mining industry. Once a thriving working port, constructed to export copper and china clay, Charlestown's principal industry is now made up of filming and tourism.
Charlestown town and harbour retains much of it's Georgian character with beautiful period properties sitting side by side with traditional stone fishermen's cottages and harbourside inns.

Charlestown Cornwall is a popular filming location, with Poldark shooting many of its scenes here. Charlestown village has provided the background for many other TV series and films, including Hornblower, Mansfield Park, Alice in Wonderland and even Dr Who.
