Charles Spurgeon Sermon - Oh, How He Loves!

C. H. Spurgeon's message - Oh, How He Loves! - originally delivered on Sunday July 7, 1872 at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London.
A stirring sermon on the immensity of God's love for us, imperfect people, demonstrated supremely in the Person of Jesus Christ. Spurgeon challenged his hearers to prove their own devotion to God through selfless action and care over the smallest matters. He also addressed the alarming trend of Christians, even ministers, moving further away from doctrinal integrity - a foreshadowing of the infamous "Downgrade Controversy" that would engulf the Church a decade later.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon was England's greatest preacher during the second half of the nineteenth century. His spectacular gift for oratory and burning zeal for Christ drew thousands to hear him preach the Gospel - up to ten times a week.

Oh Sweet Jesus Christ who died for us on Calvary's Cross and Rose again on the third day...Forgive us for our luke warm hearts! The church has grown soo indifferent for the souls of others. Jesus please relight our fire, renew our strength and give us a heart that is vexed for the lost souls in our lives as if they were our own soul. Please give us your caring love that we would cry for them. Thank You for loving us and saving us Jesus, let us not hoard your love and salvation. In Christ name - amen

Jesus didnt wept because of Lazarus. Why would He cry of someone who in the next few minutes will rise from the death. He wept because of the hardened hearts of the witnesses.

Agreed Oh how He loves us! Why would Jesus cry over the death of Lazareth when he went to heaven you do not cry over a person who went to heaven only that they have left a vacuum in our lives. Jesus cried because of their unbelief in His resurrection power and that He had been with them so long and they had seen Him resurrect the dead and yet they said "if only you".
