Charles Oliveira vs Arman Tsarukyan (UFC 300 Gracie Breakdown)

Спорт

2-minute breakdown on why Arman Tsarukyan didn’t tap to two of the TIGHTEST Charles Oliveira submissions.
For the record, I think Oliveira won the fight (and I have zero bias towards Brazilians or Jiu-jitsu 🫡 ) but it was very impressive how eager Tsarukyan was to grapple with Charles.
Who did you think won?

Those Eurasian guys are tough as nails. They honestly have a mentality of not respecting any chokes/locks and would honestly go to sleep or break/tear a limb. Sometimes it pays off, like in Arman's case of nearly choked twice and having him arm popped, but sometimes its really to their detriment, like how Bayaduran is probably still on crutches to this day or how Mokaev had a grade 2 tear from a kneebar.

@@richbaso5165 you're mistaken. The end of round 2 is when Charles threw on a triangle, Arman postured up and Charles transitioned and tucked it arm under his armpit for a tight armbar as the bell rang. Like I posted I was questioning whether Arman let it happen knowing the time was running out. The scenario you're talking about happened at the end of the fight, the end of round 3, when Arman just held off the choke attempt, at one point using the lay down flat defense. In case you're still confused, the first round is when Arman was closest to getting truly caught, that was with the guillotine that Charles got him in.

I think the same. At the moment, I couldn't believe that, being the last round, he didn't try to push as hard as possible. I understand he didn't want to take the risk because Arman could reverse the position, but Oliveira already had his hooks around Arman's neck. I think he should have put more effort into it.

@@hamrove7068 In the explanation he says that he needed to apply pressure with his chest and he explains how he could have done it (which he tried once but Arman prevents them from grabbing his leg, Oliveira stops trying and just limited himself to applying pressure with his arms ), Charles was putting pressure on that neck with his arms, you can even see for a moment how Arman loses and regains consciousness, although with just your arms you don't put all the pressure possible, it doesn't mean that there isn't pressure there Charles had a few seconds left to try them but he didn't do it.
