Charles Njonjo's Life and Times

He is one of the privileged few political leaders to have lived beyond a century and witnessed four regimes in the country. Charles Mugane Njonjo, Kenya’s first black Attorney General would have turned 102 later this month. his was an eventful life that includes nearly two decades on the corridors of the country’s political power. Here now is a look back on Njonjo's life when he turned 100 years almost two years ago.

I think the feud between sir Charles Njonjo and his immediate neighbor president Mwai Kibaki was real...actually the first person to get fired from government by president Kibaki was the then chairman of KWS Charles Njonjo and upto this time president Kibaki is yet to send his message of condolences to the family of Charles Njonjo

He would have been a terrible dictator. He was the most powerful man in the Kenyatta regime and was a man that got things to work his way whether right or wrong. He also regretted being a black man and wished he had been born white.

after arap moi kaleo regime took power njonjos, kibakis and other powerful kikuyus around moi were hounded out of public offices, shoved aside, political careers ended, eliminated, humiliated, njonjo was driven out of normal life into oblivion never to be heard or seen again for the remainder of his life while moi and his buddy of kaleos went on to enjoy lofty lifestyles courtesy of njonjos machinations and efforts; asante ya bunda ni mateke; naive and juvenile takataka boys around arap mashamba aka alibaba will receive same result as history always repeats itself
