Charles Nagy was the Forgotten Ace of a Dynasty
Спорт
Oh boy they've done it, the Cleveland Indians are this close to winning their first title in forever, this probably means more to their ace than anyone else, he's been there since 1990 and this is the closest he's ever come to earning his first career ring. In today's video we discuss Charles Nagy, the forgotten ace of the 90's Indians.
(this is gonna be another long one)

I hated when my Dbacks let him go in 2013. I pulled for Cleveland before Arizona got a team and so I was already a fan of his. And as you highlighted he made a tremendous difference for that staff.

Charles Nagy was definitely underrated! He was a gentleman and a scholar. He wasn’t HOF worthy, in my opinion, but he had his moments.

SNP I seriously love the tone, subject choice, and editing style. And your dedication to pulling film and contextualizing stats is unparalleled. My only feedback is that in some of these videos you lose the greater narrative. I know Jon is an easy comparison but in his stories he always creates this arc, right? There are occasions where I feel your content is just recapping game footage. Take more time to do VOs and to make a heartfelt plea as to why I should care about this individual. You can be more personal than this.
Good shit brotha maybe make a greg maddux video on how op he was in the mid 90s
The question on everyone's mind is this, is there a Furniture Boy in this story? The phrase Back to Furniture Boy from your Browns video cracked me up.

@@justmaxproductions For sure you just never know cause it's Cleveland lol. In all seriousness though thanks for the trip down memory lane of a post season from my childhood.
He was the Earnest Byner of that team - did all that work but ended up being the pitcher whose glove wasn’t big enough to give up a hit to end it all.

Ill always remember Nagy for the 1997 postseason in two games. For going pitch-by-pitch against Mike Mussina in game 6 on the ALCS in Baltimore, and for not being given the start in game 7 of the World Series, and Cleveland instead decided to go with Jaret Wright.

Those mid-late 90's Indians teams were NOT a dynasty. To earn the title of dynasty you gotta win it all, preferably more than once, but absolutely at least once. Let's not start throwing the word "dynasty" around like it's a fucking participation trophy. Given that no team has went as long as Cleveland without a World Series win now, they are actually the franchise the farthest removed from being a dynasty.
