Charles-Marie Widor From Organ Symphony No. 5 / Ulf Norberg

French Charles-Marie Widor is one of the biggest names in organ music. At just 25 years of age, he was appointed organist of the renowned Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris, a position he held for 64 years! The enormous organ at Saint-Sulpice was a great source of inspiration for Widor.
Among other things, it inspired him to compose ten of his organ symphonies. Toccata, which is the finale of the fifth organ symphony, is one of Widor’s most famous pieces.
