    I met him at a celebrity golf tourney as a kid and it'll always stick with me. He was so gracious, giving, gregarious (sorry for the spontaneous alliteration). This was at the height of his swing issues btw. So he shanks a ball OB and some kid finds if for him and what does Chuck do? He invites the kid to not just hang out inside the ropes, but to carry his bag for the remainder of the round 😂

    People were down on Giannis before he won his title because he had won two MVP's and hadn't backed it up in the playoffs yet. Much like Jokic it was a big reason why he didn't win three MVP's in a row. But of course race never entered into the discussion with Giannis. They are the two best players in the game and I hope we get to see them face off in a finals someday.

    In a country that was founded on RACE superiority 😂. Hit dogs holler. Race is a social construct and white America used race for social hierarchy . Race bias exist in this country whether you want to hear it or not. White America embedded racial bias in every institution in this country, along with medicine. Look up the bias GFR kidney function for ONLY black people. Now ask yourself why was that in there in the first place? How come no other race has that? “I thought we are all in this together trying to survive ”🙄. It was to prioritize white people so they can get kidney transplant before Black people could. Go visit a dialysis center in observe the highest demographic there . That’s a result of the bias equation for GFR. Now look up Redlining. Ask yourself why was it there in the first place? Why is it that a black person has to get a white person to stand in for them to get a fair value of their homes? How come we never see the reverse where a black person stands in for a white person? Because it’s systemic and It was to prioritize white people so they can get home before Black people could. Look up the Homestead Act. Who did it benefit the most? White people. The entire west was given to white Americans both foreign and native. But what would you know… you are privileged white person

    Opportunity is not given to everybody. Stop lying Mr white person. Look at the NFL for an example. Sports is a microcosm of society. Black coaches were told to be Coordinators in order to qualify for a head coaching job . Byron Leftwich, and Eric Bieniemy are both Super Bowl winning offensive coordinators. But no HC jobs. And before you say, Eric Bieniemy had a criminal past so does Mike Vrabel when he played for Ohio State, he was arrested . What made Joe Judge, a special teams Coach who had never been a coordinator qualified for the head coaching job with the New York Giants? What made Kliff Kingsbury, a college coach who never had NFL coaching experience qualified for the Arizona Cardinals job? What made Jeff Saturday qualified for the Indianapolis Colts job? Being the Owners Jim Irsays drinking Buddy. They were ALL WHITE MEN and didn’t need to qualify but get handed the job. Individuals like yourself love to avoid the harsh reality. Now zip it 🤡

    Medicine is littered with misguided “race corrections” that impact people of color VBAC, bone density, GFR, pulse ox, spirometer, etc . Race is required in medicine, housing, bank, loans, employment etc. Ask yourself why? So it’s easy to discriminate Mrs White Person. You will never understand unless you traded places.

    A Raptor fan but hoping for the Nuggets because their fan base deserves to experience a championship. Injuries are a part of any playoffs but if the Heat were at full health then I think they would be a tougher opponent for Nuggets even if the Celtics had more "talent" because of their discipline, culture , coaching , and the leadership of Butler. No one knows when a key injury will take place - Jokic twists an ankle and everything changes.

    I disagree with Charles and I'm an old school Chuck fan. I don't think it was purely strategic that Lebron threw that out there. Dude just got swept, perhaps he's seeing a light at the end of the tunnel somewhat, and was just bummed and burn't out. Maybe there's an embarrassment of getting swept and he was in his feelings, or second guessing his fire. I definitely do not think Lebron was trying to purposefully steal anyone's thunder, nor is he responsible for what the media gravitate to for their articles. He was gracious in his defeat and complimenting Joker and the Nuggets. Besides, the Nuggets have a ton more attention in store- Lebron gone fishing. Big fan of the show as well- take care.

  • @dasninjastix
    @dasninjastix Жыл бұрын

    Charles is right, LeBron should have done more to represent Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. After all part of the reason casual fans of thr NBA arent familiar with this Nuggets or Jokic, even after 2-MVPs, is mostly because of guys like LeBron, Steph, Tatum, and Embid being more popular players on more historic franchises. It's just good to know that if LeBron had said nothing, there would have been ZERO talk about his future right Chuck? Surely no one would have criticized LeBron for that or talked about it devoid of actual substance or content. The media would never do that. Inside the NBA would never do that.

    As far as post-play, you can say that Jokic and Walton.. is pretty much a wash.. both incredible. Joker is ofc a better overall shooter, but Walton didn’t come up with the 3pt-line, didn’t play in 3pt era; it would’ve been different today… and Walton definitely had a jumper! Jokic also displayed better scoring. Bill was a DPOY-level defender though, which Nikola obviously isn’t. Walton was also a better athlete, but then again his body couldn’t stay healthy, so… They’re both extremely intelligent players, off the charts IQ, and I think they’re the GOAT passing centers, with Jokic being the best ever! Speaking of all-time centers AT THEIR VERY BEST… at the top you have players such as - in no particular order - Kareem, Shaq, Wilt, Russell, Hakeem, Moses… and then Jokic and Walton are right up there too. I’d put peak Jokic over peak Walton, which is saying a whole lot! Shame that we didn’t get to see Bill reach his full potential, due to injuries. After those mentioned, you have David Robinson, Ewing, so on… As far as Brad Daugherty.. hell of a player! But he had it even worse than Bill Walton when it came to injuries. Brad wasn’t much at all as a defender, but his offensive skills were amazing. Great in the post, could score in many ways, could move around, also one of the best passing centers ever! A prime Arvydas Sabonis in the NBA would’ve been scary!! On offense, that’s probably the best comparison for a player like the Joker.

    I don't know about Walton (haven't watched him) but I can't agree on Jokić being above Patrick Ewing and the Admiral as a center. I rate Brad Daugherty higher as well, easily (glad somebody remembers that player!). Jokić has nothing on them when it comes to pure center play on both ends of the floor, he's a modern big (not a classic center) in this contemporary Mickey Mouse league.

    Chuck is nobody's sidekick. Simply put, he was one of the greatest competitors ever in the NBA. At maybe 6'5", he regularly dominated players half a foot taller than him. He also developed an outside game he didn't possess when he left Auburn. Ring or no ring...a real all-timer.
