Charlamagne Tha God Wants Democrats to Go Low In Their Messaging | The Daily Show
Charlamagne Tha God argues that Democrats need to be more direct in their messaging if they want to win. Communicate authentically and candidly with their base, like Trump does with the GOP. Luckily, politicians like Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who clapped back at MTG, and Vice President Kamala Harris can provide a compass. #DailyShow #CharlamagneThaGod #Democrats

@@MrBrock314 I’d agree with you, but that isn’t how Presidential elections work. They are decided by a few tens of thousands of people in a handful of states. "...Give hate a guest room or something..." 😆😆😆
My favorite part is when Crockett is asking that of Coomer and Raskin look only at MTG lol
Way better than the last time I saw him on TDS. Charlamagne, come back with more of this.
I don't agree and I'm not a fan of CTG on this show. Being more like republicans is a bad idea. Not sure if I agreed with they go low we go high but definitely not go lower. Also why are we talking about HILLARY????? SHE is the reason we have tRump. BTW Kamala swearing is NOT the same as being hateful.

If it were any other day and age, I wouldn’t want to hear these things. But it’s not any other day and age, and our whole current scenario is not funny. I don’t even like his name or stage name or whatever it is, but I respect the message he’s bringing. I hope people can get it, and I’m glad he’s using the platform to communicate he has.
Yeah, no one needs to be eloquent anymore. Who needs to read books? Americans have rejected education, so let's bring on the idiocracy!😒🤦🏽 no disrespect Charlamange, but we don't need to be like Sasquatch Taylor Greene. Ever. That's part of why we're in this mess to begin with.

Advocating for the abandonment of decorum and respect should not have a place on TDS. To those applauding this message, please think carefully about what the effect will truly be: further distraction from actual issues, further solidification of the divide between left and right, further acceptance of immature behaviour in professional spaces, and so on, and so on. People have the ability to be better than this: We all need to choose to do so.

We’ve been doing the “If they go low, we go high” thing for years, and look what happened. Trump gets elected as president in 2016, Roe v. Wade overturned, schools banning books and limiting how history is being taught, states passing extreme anti-abortion laws and anti-LGBTQ laws, and you think that the only way to stop these MAGA extremists is to play nice with them? They don’t care how educated we sound and how polite we are, it’s not going to change anything. The election is coming up, and we need to ante up and kick in like revolutionaries.
@MrBrock314

There's a difference between sounding uneducated and being clear. CtG is advocating for clear, normal human language. Those clips he showed of democrats speaking sounded like they were badly done ai phone messages. You can't win an argument while stuttering and tripping over sophistry. It's more important to be clear than sound educated in politics. A clear message "Yes we can" is more important than a fancy sounding message "together, through our joint efforts, it may be possible, to extricate ourselves from our current predicament". That's the same sentiment in a fancier sentiment and it's a losing sentiment. Obama knew better than to use that motto.

Most Americans read at a 6th grade level, so it doesn't matter if you disagree it is objectively necessary.
Let's not forget that 3 million more voters chose Clinton and 6 million more voters chose Biden. Most people don't want a straight talker, they want restraint and grace.

@danielmerchant5533

You don't seem civilized. You sound like you've rejected the last 200 years of modernization that has pushed for increased representation because the technology of dictatorship and the policy of restricting voices has been tried and failed. The very fact that we all know what you mean by 'civilized' is why the policy doesn't work. None of us want to hear what you have to say, and we're not going to defend a country run by people like you. Frankly, your ideas are dangerous. America is a whole, it doesn't have civilized and uncivilized parts, and to divide the country is to create opportunities for foreign influence to sow discontent.
I absolutely agree, thank you for putting it so plainly and cleverly. While there's something to be said for decorum, it's clear it isn't a winning strategy when one side isn't playing fair. Moreover, it's understandably hard to connect with inauthenticity.

7:27 This is the paradox of tolerance. In order to maintain a tolerant society, we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Letting the clan maintain their voice, letting neo-fwits express their views because of "free speech" has emboldened them not just in America but everywhere. See in most other countries free speech isn't protected, freedom of the press is to be sure, but in order to circumvent the protection of hate speech, we mostly use "protection from persecution." In that was free speech is guaranteed provided you don't maginalise an individual group. There are additional clauses that protect satire and it's written in favour of protecting minorities and disenfranchised groups. Basically its a bit longer, maybe, but it means you're able to stomp out hate groups or at least thats what we used to do...
