Charged particle tracing ( ray tracing ) in COMSOL Multiphysics

*Due to issues with editing software some unwanted sounds were added to the video after exporting the video*
In this video I show you how to perform ray tracing in COMSOL Multiphysics. In this example en electron beam is passing through a uniform electric field and we compared the simulation results with analytical calculation. Exact same approach can be used to do ray tracing in an electrostatic lens system.
In the next video i will talk about phase space distribution and how to select Emittance and Twiss parameters to achieve initial conditions for the beam release that we want.
Finance: N=63

Nice vedio! I am trying to learn Comsol to simulate discharge in these days. I think you are the expert in this feild. Maybe we can discuss in the future for some questions.😄

In this video you mention the next video for many particle conditions. where is this next video ?

I'll add here, it is impossible to combine particle tracing with magnetic fields (if you try to make a coil). Charged particles require a perpendicular B field, and this would be in the z-direction. You cannot do this in 2D unless you define a z-field directly in the magnetic force physics. So to visualize the effect of a B-field on particle tracing, you must go to 3D.
