Hello! I'm Toshi(ki) Nakamura, a professional illustrator/character designer working on animated films/TVs and children's books.
If you are like me, you have probably had an experience that you had no idea what to draw even when you were eager to draw something. In this video, I'm making character concepts from scratch. This could give you an idea of how to generate character concepts when you don't have any specific topic in mind.

honestly i never thought of using a mind map for character design and i usually only do it for storyboarding and screenwriting but that's rlly smart! also what brushes do you use in procreate? keep up the great work
Hi, I have a question, why do you never use your Cintiq? I think the model you have is one of the best ever made.

Cintiq used to be my main drawing tool, and I still use it when I teach online classes. But other than that, I've been using my iPad Pro for personal and professional work the past couple of years.
